In relation to the alarm problems, has anyone tried to go into "Settings", "Time & Date" and unchecked the the boxes next to "Summer Time and "Auto Update"?
My alarm seems to work fine every time since I got the phone with my old firmware and the new firmware i uploaded...

re. the alarm. Go to applications, media player then highlight the second folder which is the alarms.Then select what you want to do. I must warn you though that the alarm on this phone is very unreliable. I'm on my 3rd Z500 as previous 2 had probs and this one has given me some grief too but I've got fed up with complaining about it so just accept it as a flaw with this particular samsung. Battery life is pathetic too. I have to charge it every night.

Huge PROBLEM. Battery life! Charge the handset for the whole night, it only lasts for half a day and it's off. is there anything I can do maybe. Almost all the guys I work with have that handset, I am getting disspointed by the battery life.

also, i've just realised that there are camera shortcuts with the keys... not sure if it's come about after the firmware upgrade or whether it's been there the whole time. The shortcuts dont seem to be mentioned in the manual.
I can now have a full-screen viewfinder by pressing the * key while in camera mode, 7 to get picture borders, 2 to change resolution etc.

Hi All,
Finally debranded my phone with the Rexnet firmware - great firmware with no branding at all!
Just wondering... has anyone figured out how to get rid of the operator logo yet? Seems to get in the way of my wallpaper.
Think this question has been asked before, and a response was given, but doesn't seem to work on all firmwares...
I've also got those system files - pics and games that I want to get rid of to free up memory, but there's no option to delete - seems to have been hardcoded into the phone as a "system file" by the supplier/manufacturer..
Any help would be much appreciated.
Other than that.. it's a great phone!~

Can anyone help me. I bought the Z500 to an Italian guy on Ebay. The battery last only for 1 day, without talking a lot. How I can modify this? I already turned off 3G and the GPRS. Can I change the Firmware or some configuration to make the battery work at least for 2-3 days??

Hiya
My friend give me a brand new Samsung z500 phone which is great! But I can't do anything with it because there's an error on it saying " Phone freeze SIM unavaible Please inquire to service provider" This is a contract phone and my sim is a contract and on the same network vodafone. Can anyone help me or it is useless?

Great phone. Just had it for 3 days. Pro: Tones of features, small & lightweight for 3G phone. Cons: Small screen for video streaming, slight unstable bluetooth connection even with Samsung WEP 150 headset, no voice dailing.

Hi, i had just buyed the Z500 and it has all features. The only dislikes is that don t have a flash!! I have a question, i buying a Tflash Memory card to upgrade the memory. Will be slower with 512MB SD card??/ E mail me on stephen_237@yahoo.com

Hi Gaz, you seem to be the guy who knows about the Samsung Z500......is it possible to let me know how to turn up the ringing volume and also the speaker volume as mine are both very quiet.....and I was wondering what the two codes you have quoted for people are?! My phone is from Orange.

Hi there.
I have the Samsung z500 with o2, version z500bweg2_eg3. Is this the latest version or can I download some someware to update it? I have the same problem that many have that the alarm is inconsistant.
Also is there a site that gives you all the codes that have been mentioned in other posts and what to do when you enter one of these codes

Can anyone Answer me a question? i have just recently got the Z500 yet, its unable to change the themes which you could do on the D500 etc, is there anyway i can download a diffrent software for this fone? My software Version is Z500BVEL1, its with the Orange network Thanx Guys :-D

i had this phone its features are good but i prefer the D500 because it looks alot better and i'm not bothered about 3g as none of my m8s have a 3g phone. I have a ipod so i dont need a memory slot for all that extra memory from a memory card. The z500 looks very outdated it is exactly the same as a E700 lookswise except for a different colour shell. The E700 is close to 3 years old most people thought this was just a basic samsung clamshell phone when i had it. But a D500 on the other hand, well everyone knows and appreciates the D500 including myself.
