Well, i took my phone to Vodafone technical assistance, and they said that the problem wasn't detected, altought they made some tests and adjustments, and now the vodafone live buttons work again, without the phone restarting.

Roger, I'm sorry to hear you're having problems with it... :( Hope that they can fix it quickly.

My battery dured 3 days in 2G mode, with use of camera, media player, sms, calls, etc... it was the max time until now and I don't think it can do better... :(
It's really the only handicap of this phone (my opinion).

I have this phone for 2 weeks now. And i'm already having some problems with it. Every time i press the button to access Vodafone live!, or any other icon related to vodafone live!, my phone just reboots, as if i switched it off and on. I honestly don't know why this started to happen. When i got the phone i could access without problems to vdf live.
I just hope that i can be fixed with the replacement of the firmware at Vodafone.

Hi. yes, I bought the Samsung ZV10 as well and have been pretty impressed with it generally. I am getting used to the way it does tihngs. Nice screen, easy to read and nice featires. Love the MP3 player ansd the 3G part but I haven't anything to compare it with.

I am disapointed with the battery caapcity though, and/or rather the battery indicator. It drops very quickly, even when I am not using it...by the end of the first day, the top 1/3 has gone. Overnight its the second 1/3 but the last 1/3 lasts more than a day...its quite disconcerting to go out on the second day with only 1/3 left as you never know when the battery is going to starting beeping at you to charge it up again.

Since its supposed to last 9 days on standby, I wonder whether there is a batch problem with either the board or the battery.

Anyone from Samsung like to comment?

Hi there,I already have my zv10 2 weeks now, no reason to complain... the outside screen icons are probably from some samsung software version because they are similar to the old samsung phones icons (e700 for example). The outside screen don't change eith the themes, I have lots of themes and any one of them change the outside screen. And the themes aren't avaiable anywhere, you have to do it yourself, its kind of crappy but we still have to wait because only vodafone firmware samsung can use themes...

If you select the camera mode, and check the camera shortcuts, you'll see that the image shown, says that the "green" key is to change the display to the mirror image. And the "left" softkey to turn the image upside down. Well, this is not true, you have to use the lateral volume keys to do this.

On 2G mode, the last piece of battery icon (it has 3) long one and a half day. So I believe that the battery will last at least three days.

only two days in 2g. That's really bad. When my siemens was new, the battery would last almost a week,I just wouldn't worry about it. With my motorola v525, after one day I would have to be careful when leaving home to check if it would last the day. oh well.
Doesn't anyone have a zv10 that can last 3 days, lol, with normal usage.
                Thanks

Tilk, that is true, the keypad don't light up when the battery is low. Also, the camera doesn't work, in order to save power.

Hey, just to say that it was due to a power saving feature when the cell had low bat that the keypad didn't light up!! Thanks anyway!! Just needed to charge it to get it back to normal.

One thing that i don't like on this phone, is that to light the external screen, i have to press the lateral camera button. Before i buy it, i always tought that the external screen would always show up some information.

The battery lifetime still lasts about 2 days in GSM 900/1800.

By the way, does anyone know where i can find normal ringtones to sms? The phone has some few ringtones, but only one of them is "beep beep".
And anyone knows where i can find more themes for the ZV10? I mean, i know how to make them (just basic themes), but it's always better when they're already made.

Thank you DUDu.I'm in doubt about ordering the zv-10 or the Motorola E770, by Club Viva (250 pts,a real bargain). The big advantage about the Motorola is that is has Transflash cards slot, so it can be used for serious mp3 playing, but I have a bad experience with Motorola(V525), the battery time was just pathetic. On the other hand I prefer candy bar style cells. How long does the battery last by switching to "manual network" with your Zv-10? Are you really satisfied with the phone.?lol.
Thank you . Hope to hear from you soon.

Diogo, with this Samsung, you don't have that problem... on the Sub-LCD it shows an icon when you have a sms/mms and it shows something like this when you have a missing call: "1 perdida 919999999"
To light up the Sub-LCD you just have to press the lateral camera button on the phone.

By the way... one tip to save battery life time, change network mode from automatic to GSM 900/1800.
This way, you won't get UMTS(3G) network, but you'll save a lot of battery life time :)

Tilk, my keypad lights up... and I don't think that it's configurable.
You phone might have some problem... :(
In Vodafone Pt you have 14 days to return it and receive a new one.

Hi again,I've been reading some reviews about samsung cells, especially the ones with clamshell form, and there's something that's not clear. When a person receives an sms, a little symbol, shows in the fine strip of blue letters, together with the time, but if you have a missed call you have nothing. Is this true? It has to at least show something in the coloured part of the external screen, otherwise the external screen renders almost useless, because you would have to "open" the phone to check for missed calls every now and then.
Could some one shed some light on this.Thank you.

                                Elias, no problem ;)
But I'm no expert lol just like this Hi-tech stuff :p
I've been looking for additional software or upgrade and have not found none, so I guess there isn't much to do about mp3...
The only function, that I know, for the data cable is to connect to Samsung Studio3, which can also be done through Bluetooth and Irda.
The camera definition is ok... the maximum resolution is 640x480 and it offers 5 different image modes (Superfine, fine, etc...). I don't think you'll notice any difference from your nokia, or maybe just a slight improvement.

Hi everyone! Have you ever noticed if the keypad doesn´t light up? I've bought a ZV-10 a few days ago and I just noticed this. It happened when I tried to work with it in the dark!! Are all ZV-10 like this, or is it just mine? Thanks.

                                    Another question guys!!
What abou the camera? is it strong? Is it Fine? I have a Nokia 6600. Comparing this two cell phones, witch one has more and better image quality and be able to capture best pictures?
                                    Regards.

Ups! I've already ordered my new cell phone. By the way, thank you Dudu for your help. I supose you're an expert in this issue so I ask you again if it is possible to improve the cell Phone witth some Mp3 software or other else upgrade, dispite the low memory capacity? what can I do with the data cable? What was it made for?

With PC Sync, fom Samsung Studio 3, you can only syncronize the following items: Phonebook, Schedule, Task and Memo, and they all work. I've syncronized them with Outlook already. Altough the Phonebook option only syncronizes the contacts on phone memory, not on the SIM memory. But you can always copy all the contacts from your SIM to the Phone memory.

About Samsung PC Studio 3, the software itself comes with MMS Composer, and SMS Manager and Phonebook Manager. Just go to C:\Program Files\Samsung\Samsung PC Studio 3 (or wherever you installed the software), and you can see the above applications. But, i can't retrieve either my contacts or sms with these programs.

About the battery, it lasts at least 2 days in 2G, with some calls, sms, and taking photos. But i think all phone battery start lasting longer after some recharge's.
