      Yes...903Sh can read .txt file.
u have to put in in the "books" folder or "other documents"
      for it to read it

          @ DAN

Unless the phone gets flashed with the latest Japanese Version there is nothing to worry about. The Euro Version is flawless.

All you do is load the files onto the phone, after the write of the flash-files you power it off and do a "#+PWR" master reset.

Make sure your SIM-CARD is not in when you flash it.

No one likes flashing the 903 as it takes ages and it's an expensive phone. No one wants to carry the responsibility for a $1200 phone...
Flash files are hard to get as Vodafone is pretty strict. Flash files actually belong to Vodafone and unless you have the written permission, it is illegal to possess them.

Get them to do it while you are there, that way you can make sure everything is done properly and they don't drop it lol

yo skater42, i follow your advise and decide to flash my 903 jap version to euro version. went through out central london to get it flash and was told that there are issues that might resulted with the phone goes dead. most of the shop in central london do not want to do it or theres 1 or 2 shops might, but they warn me if the phone goes dead they wont be held respondsible and this makes me uneasy even to leave the phone to them. my questions are: what make they say that? and if the phone goes dead what should i do? can i get it reflash back and it will be reboot as normal, please help me with this issues..many thanks

              @ DUKE-35

I bought a pair of Sennheisser headphones, and in normal mode they are AWESOME! The sound is perfect!

But as soon as you go into Surround Sound I've noticed that it is hollow and quite distorted, which was never the case on the 802SH. In fact, the Surround-Bass was the best setting on the 802SH.

                      ==========

Hey dude, did you own a 802SH? I did a while ago and here's my question to you:

Compared to the 903SH, do you think the 802SH Surround-Sound on the media player was just miles better?

I'm getting the vibe that the surround sound on the 903SH is horribly crippled.

                      cheers,

                      Skater42

                            @ Noli

Hi there, I don't have access to the SMART GPRS settings. Ring customer service or browse their web site to get them.

If the settings do not work though they are correct, and there is no Vodafone affiliated NP (Network Provider) then it is likely that your phone isn't "white-listed" (allowed to access the GPRS Network). This is done to protect the Network in certain countries. Ask SMART directly whether it is possible to use the 903SH on the network, they CAN tell you as they can check the white-list.

I had the same problem with my 802SH in Australia, so I am speaking from experience :)

                                  A sudden break-down could be:

                                  A) Faulty Battery, try to replace it with another battery and see if that fixes the issue.

                                  B) Water damage: Has the phone been in any damp or very humid places?

                                  C) Shock-Damage: Did you drop the phone? This could have broken the motherboard and/or certain circuits on it.

                                  D) Electric Damage: Did you overcharge/short-circuit the phone or was there a black-/ brown-out while your phone was connected to the charger?

                                  Other reasons:

                                  - Failed flashing
                                  - incomplete master-reset (#+PWR)

The link only contains JAD files which reference directly into the same directory, but I can't find any files there. So it's all that it is, a text file with no other content.
