phone is very big and slow with so many software limitations.. and what are you going to use a barcode scanner for??? once again useless, and for the price you should get a phone that doesn't freeze and require taking the battery out to restart it(a common occurance for this model phone).. don't get sucked in by the camera although it has some really cool features its very slow to focus and slow to scroll through the photo's.. ringtones can only be played from the phones internal memory, which is overall, 8mb, very small compared to other phones.

To EVERY 903 Owner, dont listen to that stupid person about throwing away your 903, AWESOME Phone. VERY Easy to use, Perfect camera... great MP3 player, also i have such great battery life.... 3 days. Great phone. If were going to throw away any phones then it should be Nokia N90 and Sony Ericsson W900i that are both FULL of bugs. 903... ROCK ON!!!!!! Your Biggest Fan... TIMMY

I would normally have just surfed on past this review but it is so far off the mark that it deserves a response. The Sharp 903SH for Vodafone is a large brick of a phone with the slowest autofocus you could imagine (unless you've tried its predecessor, the snail-focus 902SH). Despite the relatively high pixel count, both of these phones take a less than acceptable photo. I don't know if it's a lack of post-processing or a sinple reflection of the fact that Sharp is not a camera maker, but the hype about the high pixel count is misplaced for a number of reasons.

First, the picture just does not look good: unsharp with low contrast. Second, the phone writes incredibly slowly event to a top-of-the line Panasonic Pro High-Speed media card. Third, the monitor pivots laterally, BUT to the wrong side! So, when you want to shoot a photo, you have to deliberately do everything backwards from the way that would be most natural. Fourth, the shutter button for the camera is awkwardly placed and easy to mis-fire as it has multiple functions depending on the way and number of times it is pushed -- none of this is properly documented. Fifth, there is insufficient control for the shooter over the resolution and format of the image. Sixth, the menus and interface are not merely a step down from the norm, they respresent an ambiguous and difficult-to-master set of repetitive routines that show no sense of understanding of even the most basic rules for designing a user interface. And seventh, to top it all off, the phone is woefully underpowered with the tiny battery that it takes and with the data crunching rising with the high-pixel images and music playback one would be lucky to get through a day before the Vodafone logo comes up and you're waving goodbye not just to your camera and music, but to your phone connectivity itself.

thanx for ur prompt reply timmy..ovr the past few days i've been seriously leaning towards gettin this fone as oppposed to a N90 nokia...can anyone give me a list of the pros and cons of having this fone in a nutshell as opposed to owning a N90 or a SE W900i? and i dont mean from the POV of style...i mean purely technical reasons
                            thanx

Cal: Sounds like you have JAP Firmware? this firmware will not accept a MP3 format. UK Firmware is needed for MP3. Good luck and sorry but i dont have anything to do with games sorry. Tim

reguarding mark below, umm well think of it this way, the phone is a phone and it wasn't specifically MADE for video recording. Sure the camera is picking up the picture the way your really look at it on the screen when your recording it, but as i said before, it wasn't made for recording video so when you play it back, it is skipping parts and moving the picture a certain way because its not picking up the actual picture the way it is. to tell you the truth, its no where near a human's eye heh...theres not much more i can say. Take the phone apart and try something with it yourself haha just kidding by the way DON"T DO THAT!!!
