imran: 1G miniSD is the max, also UK Firmware is by far the best, no problems and the only lock on it is that you cant remove that Network name off the LCD, the next best firmware is the Hong Kong SX833 but that is branded with this UGLY Smar-Tone Vodafone software. So i recomend UK Firmware. Without a doubt.. Timmy

i need some help please..after readin numerous mssg boards..i ve some questions:
which sharp 903 fone is bettr...the uk firmware, the jap firmware or the HK firmware?
and finally wots the maximum limit of SD card i can use with this fone..since the internal memory is only 8 mb..i'm guessing too large a size would slow things down considerably.
your prompt reply will be appreciated

The final result will naturally not be as clear as when you are taking it, but make sure you are setting your videos under the highest res and save it as QVGA(3GP) for the best quality output. other than that there is not much more you can do, but i'm pretty sure its quality is still the best!

I got this phone November last year and wonder if someone can give some advice as i'm not that technically minded with phones. Regarding the video camera, i've found that when taking video's it looks fantastic - yet on playback it's as blocky and choppy as hell, and I feel that i've seen better quality on other phones (i stress - just my opinion!. Downloading video's are a doddle and playback crystal clear, and video's sent to me are also of superior quality. At the moment i'm really disappointed with my video playback from my phone, so am i missing something here? Can anyone advise?

Btw, is there is access code or place on the phone to see which batch your phone is from and where it is made, i got my phone just like a week ago or so and the person i bought it from claims he could unlock even the newest batch, my phone is fully unlocked and i thought it might actually be from the latest batch?

jose, mobile-review has a very good thread by a member who compared the 903's camera with w900i's, w900i's camera and video is actually alot better than k750's, yet 903 still beats it hands down. check it out

Jose: these pics are 10X better than a SE 750i. Hello 2.0 vs 3.2 and 903 has 2x optical zoom.

Hi Steven: CID stands for Chip Identity i think, and 24 is the ones from Nov-Dec 05 and Jan 06 are now CID 73, CID 73 is unreadable from any unlocking tool to date. They will prob make a way around it.

Timmy: I can't complain - I got this for 35,000yen. Is CID something to verify the identity for using those unlocking tools ? It's too bad I found out so late about this.

Steven: what did you do that for?? Do you have an unlocking device? They might never bake a tool that will unlock a sharp 903SH with CID 73. lol.... Long Term Expencive Paper Weight. lol

Sorry Jenny, didnt answer your question 100%... UK Firmware is better because 1) No faults (that i have found) 2) Plays MP3's 3) TXT msging spacing changes from - Presing the right key X2 - "0" key. Has a nicer Menu layout from the SX833, No "Re-Provisioning" problem like on the 903SH JAP Firmware.. and the list goes on. Timmy

Hi Jenny, I work for a Cellphone shop, therefore we have all the devices for flashing. It is an expencive device and it works through the computer. It sends new Flash files through the Video Out Connector in the phone. You can only flash the phone via this device.
Today i pulled apart a 903SH, it was from NZ ( i took the keypad lol, get rid of the Jap )
This phone is such a DOG to get into. I took

HUGE camera. Sharp have come a long way from the GX30, that phone is such a pain to get back together.... Timmy

Be careful - I just ordered one of these from Japan. The new batch starting from December cannot be unlocked as of yet. Looks like I'll be stuck with a paperweight for a while.
