Another thing Miffy. Ur SD card might need formatted by the phone but see the card icon on ur fone's display if it there(middle top). It should appear "unbroken" otherwise it means that it needs formatted by the phone. To format, go to connectivity on main menu then to "Memory Card">>Format Card.

Hi Miffy. Ur 903 shld b able to play MP3. If not, reconvert the MP3 to MP3 (lame) using dbpoweramp. If u dont have dbpweramp yet download the free version from the internet. When it is installed on ur comptr, just right click the song wherever folder it is on and click on drop-down menu "convert to" with dbpoweramp icon. When the program window appears try not to change any of the default settings except the folder where u want to store the converted MP3.I suggest choose the same folder to be easier to find ur converted MP3. Click "convert". That's it. U can move the song to ur fone now.

Hi Barry. Assigned pictures and ringtones for a specific contact should display and play whenever that contact rings you.

              Hi everyone,

Can someone tell me whether the Sharp 903 can automatically play the assigned ringtone and display the assigned picture of the group or person calling from? It seems that it keep playing the ringtone and picture assigned from the phone "Settings" (Display settings and Sound Settings) and not from the ones assigned in the Phonebook. Thanks for your help!

Hi Miffy again. Your questions have all been answerd already on this forum about few pages back. But anyway here are some ideas:
To convert audio files to whatever u like, u can use dbpoweramp or musicmatch and many others on the internet. They shd be on ur computer.
To watch DVD or videos u need several programs installed on ur comptr as well:
DVD Decrypter, FlaskMPEG, ffdshow, G.726E codec, Mediastage for AV100. U will also need a card reader/writer, at least 512MB(1GB preferred)Mini SD memory card + adapter and a lot of patience. I have posted an instruction on how to do these already on this forum but if you want a detailed one, see ebayUK and type on the searchbox sharp 903 and you will find the all-in-one program converting videos by "commanderspike". It's about GB£8.50 and he sends by email now. It's worth it I tell you. There are some who sell cheaper programs but I can only guarantee commanderspike. This is the most exciting feature of 903 and mine is always the center of attraction whenever I'm with friends. I'm sure it will work on your phone as this program is actually made for 903. And for those who already have it, I find WINAVI converter much easier and more flexible and with promising results to use than DVD Decrypter before converting to FlaskMPEG. Good luck.

                    Reno and everyone else
Thanks for replying. I just got my phone a couple days ago. I love it, it's just the ringtone that's driving me crazy. So I should buy a card reader, and that will allow me to transfer from computer to memory card? Can you tell me more about it? Please give me more advice on how to convert mp3 files, and watching dvd on my phone? I got the japanese version with hong kong program? I'm not sure, but there's chinese on my phone. I've been reading the forum and it's hleping me. Thanks everyone

Hi Miffy. I don't think there's any way of doing that. I tried that many times b4 and that prompted me to buy a card reader/writer. Probably that's why nobody has replied to ur query. And even if its possible, transfers the BT or IrDA way take ages. In computers and phones, even 10 secs is very long.

                        Reno,
thanks for replying. I can d/l to my phone internal memory no problem. I'm using bluetooth adapter from phone to comp and vice versa, but the problem is that it only allows me to d/l to internal memory and not my memory card. HOw can I d/l to my memory card from computer to phone?

Hello miffy. The best u could do is buy a cheap multiple-in-one USB card reader/writer(if u have a computer). It's the easiest and fastest way of moving files from phone to computer and vice-versa.

but 4 or 2 gig is nowhere near the amount of memory need for a mp3 player. thats y i dint buy da w800i coz i could buy a zen vision m, which har 15 timesmore memory. da 903 is a mans phone not a lil shi3ty orange colour. n everyone has a w800i n no one has a 903.

Hi, to flash a Sharp, Sony Ericsson, LG and an Alcatel you will need a USB Smart Card Device. You plug the card into the USB and then into your phone, You will need to do master format and then reload all the 8 Flash files, It is easy to do you just need all the stuff to do it. I recoment taking it to a Service centre and having it done there as if you stuff it up the phone will NEVER work again, Wont even flash the backlights when you turn it on. I flashed a Siemens SX1 before and now all it does is Do funny colours on the display now, and i stuffed a Nokia 5110 (just for a laugh) and now it will not accept a Sim Card!!! FUN FUN,

Also 121 W8001 maxes out at 2G as Memory Stick Duo only goes up to 2G but.. Nokia N91 has a 4G micro drive in it, I think that could be a problem when the phone gets a little drop and the arm of the micro drive breaks off and Nokia have millions of people kiking up a fuss because it wont work!! o well, they will learn from it.

                                    Merry Xmas all!!
