Hi kiki. Though 903 can play mp3s, you can't set it as ringtone if it is more than 3MB in size. You have to cut it by another program like Power MP3 Editor or find one which is between 2.5-3MB.

Hi ho. 903 can play .asf converted(dvd) videos by mediastage program. It can play 3gp videos recorded by the phone. Mediastage can only accept .avi files converted by flaskMPEG program. It's complicated. The complete set of programs is available on ebay UK by "commander spike". He sends by email now and I guarantee it will work. I can't guarantee others specially by "thebestguidesever". You better buy a 1GB mini SD card so you can store dvds and music videos in loads. There are free programs available on the internet but definitely will give lots of headaches and frustrations. I promise you no phone today can come close to 903s video playback.

Hi Barry. 903 has "flight mode" and you can play your music and games as well. There are ways to overcome 903's weaknesses like sound volume and MP3 as ringtone and they are all mentioned previously on this forum. If you would have video clip like "Friends" on your mobile, people will leave what they are doing just to have a peek at your phone. Nobody would be interested listening to your phone's MP3s if you know what I mean. Everybody has their own to listen to but only few has got DVDs or video clips in full 2.4" screen on their mobile phones nowadays. Sorry if I conveyed my opinion in a negative way but you would understand my point when you'll own this phone.

Thanks Reno for your comment! It helps!

At this point, I am still favoring Sharp 903 more than SE K750i/W800 since the good stuff in 903 still out-weight the rest of its minor disadvantages. Overall, 903 has all the features that SE K750i/W800 have (in some area they're less favorable but I can live with them) and on the other hand, SE doesn't equip with key features such as 3G/video conferencing and the 3.2 mp camera!!
Turning it off to listen to MP3 is a nice feature for travelling in a plane.

Oh sorry I forgot...Yes, 903 has a voice recorder and I hear my recorded voice just as clear as in other phones. Lenght depends on how much memory is on your internal.

Hi Barry, You don't need any advice. You are for SE and not for 903 so better buy any of the 2 you mentioned. 903 sounds very good on a headset and there's hardly any difference with SE on a headset. If I like to hear louder music I would play my hifi stereo rather than my celphone and I can't play a celphone loud on its built-in speakers while walking on the street, can I?. Why would you turn the phone off just to listen to MP3? I don't see any importance of it. What if somebody calls you? Phones are made to be on all the time. All 3G phones(not only 903) are BIG and has short battery life. And that applies to SEW900 too. You can have a look at N90 which is much bigger and heavier. It's like comparing a 42" plasma TV to a 14" flatscreen TV and that would explain why 903 consumes more power than W800. I dont care if 903 has only 8MB internal memory as I have a 1GB of memory on my SD card. I have 3 friends-one has K750i, 2 have the W800. They keep their phones on their pockets and bag whenever I open my 903 and watch DVD. You only get what you paid for Barry. Good listening on your lovely sony ericsson(s).

Does anyone know whether the Sharp 903 has voice recording? ...and if yes, how does this function compare to other competitors?

From the comments in this forum, it sounded like the only down side for the 903 are: low internal memory, big in size, low battery life, can not turn phone off to listen to MP3 (where Sony Ericsson K750i or W800 can), and the quality of MP3 sound is not as good as the two walkman type Sony Ericsson models. Did I missed any?
The only reason I am going with 903 over the Sony Ericsson are the 3G and 3.2 mp camera.

Please let me know, so that it will help me to deside which one to buy...Thanks!

Hi Everyone, I recomend you all take reno's advice with the memory cards as it is safe, Try it in the phone without formatting and if it dont work then format it in My Computer using quick format. And then you insert in the phone and just give it 30secs or so and the 903 will load all the files on o the memory card. Once you have this working dont stick the card in any other device but a picture machine or a Comp. Coz i put mine into a Sanyo 5600 CDMA and i had to format it cos the Sanyo loaded on it's file contents making the 903 unable to read it. Good luck all!!

Hi viet. Your tv must have the audio/video INPUT jacks usually yellow(video),red(left audio channel) and white(right audio channel). If tv has SCART you must have an adaptor with those 3-color jacks where u can connect those plugs. Connect the other end of the cable(not the speakers) to your phone as you do with your accompanied headset. Then put the tv on A/V mode like you do when you are using a VHS or DVD player. If your tv has no A/V mode, you must program a channel for the phone just like the way they do for VHS recorder of DVD player. You can view your videos and photos from the phone on your tv now but i don't know if you can watch on the tv if anyone calls you.

Hi, people. I'm in the UK, and I'm thinking of buying a 903 come the new year.
Would you say it's worth it? And I've heard the design of the handset itself is bad, big and clumsy. Is this true?
