Hi all. Some SD cards don't need formatting. I suggest you insert the card first and see if it works. You will know anyway if it needs formatted. Some cards when formatted gets damaged. It's my experience. If you see the card icon on top of the screen when you insert it then it's ok otherwise you'll see a "broken card" icon. By then try format the card. Even if the seller will replace if it's broken or damaged, it's a hassle sending it back and wait for the replacemant. Just an honest advice. TNX

Hi, Yes you will need to format the miniSD before use.
Hi Henry: I recomend the Sharp 903 (euro) software, This version is FULLY unlocked and ALL features WORK!! I dont like the SX version softwares on the 703 902 an 903. They dont look as good as the euro version being ALL vodafone colours. Your choice but Euro is by fas the best. I have used 3 of the softwares... Vodafone 903SH (Jap testmode and fully unlocked) Sharp SX833 and now Euro. Euro being the best. Good LUCK!!

I got Sharp v903 or sx 833 week ago, my computer recognized it as SX833.( i am not sure of which version i have) Its features are awsome, i can play mp3, mp4, 3gp. the problems i facing with are the folder icon of Organizer and Media play switched, evrery time i try to run a java apps a "not enough memory to run" message display, and the blue tooth manager software(which come which package) display " your phone version not supported by this software".
Should i upgrade to another version of firmware? if yes whcih one?
Any help is appreciated.....

File setup? It can play(or read)MP3 as well as MPEG4/ASF/AAC/AAC+ formats. I think it can play 3GP too as it is one option in video recording. I have 1GB mem card and keep most of my files on it leaving more space for the handset. I am telling all these according to my experience. Others may have more knowledge than me.

To ho. The MP3 player is not too bad on its built-in speakers but not as good as the SE "Walkphones". But the sound is very good with the headset that comes with it. The reason why it's a bit softer is being 3D stereo as the sound is "spreaded" around. But if it is set to Bass, the audio is better. All 3G phones has short battery life whether you use them or on standby because of higher resolutions and modem. You're lucky if they last more than 2 days. I would recommend to have a spare fully-charged battery.

Hi Penny.
There were some users of JP version who complained of "silent mode" and "shutting off" + trouvle putting mp3 files and sending MMS and so on. The Euro version which I am having has no trouble at all when it comes to basic functions. Menu system is simple and easy to follow much like the other Nokias. Video and photo are superb and unmatched by any phone in the market today. If somebody tells that any Nokia or Moto is better, don't believe them as they are lying. The word SHARP speaks for itself. And if you have the software bundle for dvd conversion and playback, you'll gonna snub all the phones around. It's the best quality this phone has.

Hi!
Finally i've ordered one Sharp 903 for me and i'm waiting to get my hand on it!!
Just one thing i've had the choice between the unlocked version of Jap and Germany factory unlocked by Vodafone. But i wasn't sure which one to take but finally when i ask for the jap unlocked version it was already finished and i've ask for the difference between the Germany unlocked version. They told me that this version is being unlocked by Vodafone company itself without any used of third party software also that it does not have any limit on the version of unlocked firmware as the jap or euro or even the SX....! So my question is does anyone can tell me if they know anything on this version i'm getting on my Sharp 903???
Thx
