To Hai...and to everybody.
For you to have a DVD movie played on 903 in full screen, you'll have to have at least 3 programs namely; DVD Decrypter, Flask MPEG, and the Panasonic Media Stage. Even if you have all these 3, it's very complicated to do but when you are used to it, it's very easy. I'm going to explain these to u if u can assure me u have all the 3. U r lucky if u got ur programs for only $1 or $2. I paid GB£9.99 for mine but it's worth it. I tell u I have everybody's envy for my music videos and DVD. And in addition, u must have at least 1GB of mini SD as DVD files are huge. Plus the card reader for file transfer between ur computer and phone.

to reno: I got a software to convert DVD to avi,wmv...etc. and I also got SD-moviestage. So could you help me by giving instruction step by step to get my sharp play DVD in full screen? Must I need to use DVD file to convert to avi first Or I can use SD-moviestage to convert any file to ASF?? One silly question, ASF is Mpeg4, right??? :)

"but they can never reach Nokia in terms of software. I mean, this phone doesn't even have themes?"
If memory serves me correctly the first phone I saw with themes was the Ericsson T68. Nokia didn't introduce them until a long time afterwards
Who cares about themes when the photo's you can take yourself are so good and the screen is so clear and bright.
How much time do you spend looking at the menu's anyway?

903 has the biggest external display in the world of mobile phones. Just twist the display 180 degrees and there you have the external display. The light blinks if you have a message and of course Greg, you'll hear a tone if you haven't set the phone to silent mode.

I am looking at buying the 903, but with no external display is there any way of knowing if you have a message? Thanks.

To bluetooth.
Maybe you haven't done "pairing" of ur fone and computer. They have to recognise each other first before they can do file transfer. It's only an error msg. It doesn't mean you really can't do that function. But some bluetooth dongle don't work properly with some bluetooth devices. That's why I just keep dongle on the cabinet and bought a cheap card reader which works without hassles.

1 is there a radio on any version of 903? a lot of websites selling this, especially the v903 or 903sh (are those the same thing, aren't those the versions sold in England instead of Japanese version, if not which are the English versions?), claim that there's an FM radio. if no radio, are there handsfree stereo headphones with integrated radio available that fit 903's headphone jack? how much is a jack adapter that accepts 2.5/3.5mm headphones? also, is the stereo speaker adequate for listening to music without earphones, how good are the earphones?
2 is anything in or on the sealed 903 box in a foreign language?? Many pictures of this phone show asian looking characters on the keypad along with English letters and numbers, so is everything on the phone in English? I'm reading stuff even on sites selling the 903 about how the phone is from japan and manuals may be in a foreign language, are they?? I thought this was sold in England by an English cellcarrier, wouldn't every single 903 sold in UK or available or marketed to USA in English language websites have EVERYTHING in English? from which websites did people buy their phone and was everything in English?
3 how are pictures or esp. video recordings indoors or in the dark? where can we see sample video recordings from 903?

To d2_e.
I don't know on what basis did u come to say that sharp don't come near to Nokia when it comes to software. I have been using Nokia for years and had quite a few models but I hardly noticed any superiority of its software from other brands. Have you ever compared the video of 903 from any top nokia? You only can use the Nokia Multimedia converter to any brand and see the quality-full of audio clicks and video lapses. Theme??? What does theme can do to improve a phone's features. I would rather put my wife's photo as a wall paper rather than use any phones theme. Nokia's display is deceiving. Very large screen but the actual size is smaller because almost third is occupied by logo and option icons below. I must agree that sharp has to check its JP version as there are so many complaints about it. But have you heard any complaints from UK users? Even about software??? Nokia. whatever model it is, can't come close to my 903's features and I can challenge anyone. Has any Nokia brand has a software to play or even enable it to play DVDs in full screen??? Not even N91 can do it

to d2_e:
Just to let you know the v903sh (Japanese version) does come with two themes and yes software wise Sharp may not be as comprehensive and versatile as Nokia but the sad thing is that deciding what sort of software to be implanted in vodafone-exlcusive handsets like the 903 is largely determined by vodafone, rather than the handset manufacturers themselves...

Sharp has proved it can produce a top phone again. Their displays and the cameras are the best, but they can never reach Nokia in terms of software. I mean, this phone doesn't even have themes? What are they doing

On the SD_VIDEO playback settings it has 4 options-normal, repeat, repeat all, and ramdom, but they don't work wherever I set it. I have a collection of several music videos and when I play them, even though it's set on repeat all, they don't. I have to push the play button again to repeat and they just play one by one, not as a playlist. Is yours like this?

Hi, there is an avaliable full unlock of the Sharp 903SH. However their is nothing BAD about the testmode version!! just power button bothers me so i never turn my phone off!! im 24/7 "mobile" lol. For saving a pic to the DCIM (memory card file) it takes about 3 sec but all other saving to phone memory is fast as!! Also camera pick up speed is faster than any other sharp, no lagging!! This is a perfect model!! AWESOME WORK SHARP
