CGS (Continuous Grain Silicone) and TFT (Thin Film Technology) is manufactured differently but the visual appearance cannot be detected by human eyes. So, there's no differece in visual effect, that's why I said it's the same thing. your eyes cannot tell the difference unless you have extreme sensitive eyes, that is...

Hi Dante, Don't waste your money. You can't unlock Japanese cell phone. Look at this site before you waste your money on something that won't work.
http://euc.jp/misc/cellphone.en.html
After you read this site no need to explain further that it's useless trying to unlock Japanese cell phones. If they are willing to show you that they can unlock it first and prove the software will work, then by all means go for it! You will be able to make tons on money if you can sell the unlocking software! Let me know first thing if the software ever works!!! Good luck!

Mylah Subong, Update on the SMS message capacity according to my users manual:
INBOX Capacity: 2000 Max (3MB max)
OUTBOX Capacity: 600 Max (1MB max)
However there is a note saying "Estimate for when there is no data stored on the V801SH". The specification says 3 MB shared internal memory, but I think there would be at least 8 MB of internal memory on the V801SH when I calculate the other feature like "data folder", V-appli", etc.? (The GX32 has an internal memory of 7 MB so that's why I think the V801SH has more, like 8 MB... I may be wrong)
Anyway with the 256MB SD memory card the amount of 1144x858 resolution picture storage capability "is more than enough" and voice recording capacity is over 10 hours. High quality stereo recording time is about 4 hours with the 256MB card. The V801SH is definitely a very versatile phone with mutimedia capability and much more! Enjoy it! Aloha!

Mylah Subong, the V801SH with a fresh 256MB SD memory card will record video for 428 minutes continuously in 176x144 (QCIF) and Video Mode set to "High Quality". I believe I read in the manual that it will store about 500 to 1000 text message combine in the inbox and outbox.

Informaiton for people who are visiting Hawaii and have the V801SH. There are only two carrier here in Hawaii who has a contract with Vodafone. Make sure to set your "temporary carrier" in Hawaii to T-Mobile (in manual mode, don't use auto mode!) otherwise if you select AT&T, you won't have much coverage at all here in Hawaii.

Packerman, you can use your V801SH in Vietnam, I just checked the rate section and it's 368 yen per minute (about $3/minute) it's expensive! So you can take your V801SH and put it in a roaming mode and use it in Vietnam under Vodafone rate.
If you're trying to use the V801 with your local cell phone carrier, there's no way to do it, as I mentioned even the experienced guys who unlockes cell phones in Japan can't unlock the V801SH yet... Good luck!
