Khaan, V801 does not support MP3 file. There is no way to unlock the unit, the design of the Vodafone USIM card and the regular SIM card is different.

Hi! I've been reading the threads. Does anyone know of a phone I can use in Japan and the rest of the GSM world? If someone unlocks the V801SH can I just pop in a prepaid sim card in Japan and it will work?
        Thanks!

JIM, regarding utilizing the camera and multimedia function without the USIM card installed? Unfortunately it will not work without the USIM card installed. I just tried it and sure enough it doesn't... And I don't think there is an way to unlock this handset..

With a 256MB SD memory card the V801 is capable of recording 428 minutes of video in 176 x 144 resolution (QCIF) in highest quality mode! Picture quality is not bad at all for a cellular phone!

no, you cannot use this phone outside of japan EXCEPT on the vodafone japan network. the phone is completely locked to vodafone japan, so it will not work with any other provider.

I do not have an opinion on the V801SH because I did not know the phone exists. I use a sharp GX30 and I want to know if the V801SH is better?
