SX1 has some complaints, the main thing being that sometimes, the sound system does not work, and whatever you say into the phone is not heard at the other end.
Another problem is that sometimes the sound is too low, and the speaker does not have sufficient volume.

Ive had this phone for 7 months now its been returned 3 times. Major faults exist with this handset mainly with the software. Siemens make good phone but bad smartphones. USB connection rarely works only positives are that it has a massive screen and SD card.

when i first saw this phone was like wow cool man n i trade my nokia 6600 n top 100 bucks for this phone n after 1day of using i cry inside my heart n regard of trading my 6600 n happy that siemens is closing because dont judge the book by its cover n learnt my lessons n will never ever going to buy a siemens phone

But these are its adventages, to be fair, I should say about its disadventages too: first, I should talk about its voice: Voice is not loud enough and sometimes I had many miss calls, because in outdoor the voice is not heard!! loudest voice is a middle level of many other phones. the Build quality is doubtful too. sometimes I fear that my keys become left from body. another disadventage is about Battery place that it won`t be severly in the place without back cover. if you don`t place back cover, battery will fall. it seems that Battery is smaller than suitable size.also about joystick, recently I feel that sometimes not work good and I should press it harder( I only feel, may be my pressure is not true). someone said before about restarting of the phone. yes that is true. my phone recently Restarted suddenly without any reason, one of these times, today during my call. but I think it is becaue of programs I installed on my phone specially sound recorders that are runing in background.
someone asked about its price in Dubai, I was one month before in Dubai and price was 930 Drahma. in Iran it is now near 250$.
these were my exprience about my phone and I like to share it to others. if adventages are importnat to you, I advise you to buy it, because these are very useful to me compare by many other phones, even Nokia 6600. but if disadventages are important t you more than the adventages I said, you should search for better (and maybe more expensive) Phone.

I have read all opinions here. before and after buying an SX1. now I can conclude that there is two different kind of SX1 in market, one is very bad (maybe chinese and other acceptable.) I bought one,exactly in Dec,24 and use it till today. fortunately I am completely satisfie and feel nothing "untolerable" in it. of course it is not faultless, but compare to its facilities, I give this phone a good point. first of all about things I was persisting that my phone should have: 1)MP3 player: the phone MP3 player is very very good and quality is completely acceptable. Transfer rate is very good: I upload an MP3 file in size of 1:70 in almost 10 seconds. Design is good (accoring to my taste it is beatiful, by yours may not!!) its Organizer is very useful and simple to use. Radio is working good,too. Screen is very clear and big enough even to read E-Book (I read many of my short Contents in Bus and streets in my phone. SX1 is wonderful in this case). the Headset quality is very good too, but unfortunately the voice controller is not embeded in Headset and you should bring out phone and made the voice upper or lower. Bluetooth is fast too. applications are also easy to access (you can download many application for free in my website: www.datiki.com) also the charger size is very small and compact and you can have it by yourself anywhere.

I bought one of these because of the feature list, and definitely think I made a huge mistake. First, the software is very buggy and crashes all the time, especially when transferring data. Second, the build quality is poor, feeling like a cheap toy compared to my old Nokias (which cost a lot less!). Third, the battery barely lasts one day, versus 4-7 days with every Nokia I've owned. My SX1 has now started resetting itself for no reason, with the result that I'm going to say goodbye to Siemens and buy another Nokia. Nokia build ordinary looking phones that work, where as Siemens build flash toys that don't. I know which I want, and it isn't Siemens.

I use SX1,
its great. No kidding on how slow one can get when typing sms, but i'm looking for a bluetooth keyboard to solve the problem but wont be that 'mobile' with that. battery life is the only thing i hate besides the k/board, but what i love most is, most ppl wont use it, so i'm just one of a kind.. btw, FM radio, MP3 - sounds so good. I use card reader to transfer files fr pc-sx1's mmc .. hassle free.

I really wanted the Sx1 "music edition" which was available up until last week on the o2 website. However it has been taken off and I asked why, they said siemens took it off because of numerous faults. Anyone else heard about this? From what I gather the phones seemed to work ok. Maybe its just the music edition?

very good one that SX1 ... easy to use...easy to make calles...easy to enter wap...fast download..good mic... good earphone.. many features..good camera..funny and new games... very good FM radiao...and the best feature is these short cuts ..i love sx1

SX1 sucks! big time. I had it for 1 month and it was dead. No sound, bluetooth not working, MMC card not detected, self-reset every now and then and many other problems. If you want to buy a good phone, stay away from Siemens

Does this phone accept normal-size MMC or RC-MMC card ?
And what file system is used: FAT16 or FAT32 ?

This phone is OVER-equipped, so someone would say it is great!! BUT, to me prooved to be not a good phone!! Without talking tom much and using it a lot, the battery needed charging every 2 days!!!!
This is unforgivable for a 450euro phone!

I'mu using a siemens sx1
Hi, and I have a mmc transcent 256mb. When I attempt to make a backup of the phone, siemens sx1 reboots and only 8kb is saved to the mmc.
When I attempt to copy a mp3 form pc to mmc, only 1mb is copied, then winxp says "unknown error", and a stupid file name *.xxx is saved on the phone.
what Can I do?

hello;
I have download many applications from my-siemense.com but there is 2 problem: some of them doesn`t install on phone because of an unspecific error. another is that some applications are very good, specially games and Ebook tools, but games take a lot f space on phone memory, despite the fact that I have installed mgs and game itself in my memory card. is there any way to keep phone memory empty, and install these games too?
