WT, 29 Nov 2009Aino touch screen function is really bad! 50% of the time,... moreYes you're right about that Aino were pulled out of market because of some malfunction with touchscreen (sometimes it didn't respond) and for the Satio it had some serious firmware problemes Sony Ericsson reported that they will fix those probleme later this week

One of UK phone retailers has pulled Aino off its shelf after it has done so for Satio!

i want to buy a new phone but i'm afraid of buying this because i heard that there are some issues with this phone.
last time i bought a se k850i and that phone got out of order after six month use i got it repaired five times from se service centre but it didnt get fixed.
so at last i had to sell it for less than half of its price and bought a w580 thats why i am afraid of.
i am from india.

about the walkmate. i am not tech but according to my understanding walkmate is associated in w 995 and other phones with the acceleromotor.
and aino does have accelermotor so it should be compatile with walkmate application.

There is no walkmate app in Aino. I checked it on SE website and it seems Aino is not supported by walkmate.
Camera has Face detection, Auto, Macro, Infinite. Picture Size are 8MP (4:3), 7MP (3:2), 6MP (16:9), 3Mp (4:3), Full HD (16:9)..Pls mind this is the size of the picture, don't get confused in the Full HD thing. Its just the size. Theres no best pic in camera. But there is touch focus, in which you can touch the screen to take a pic or focus on a particular area to take the pic. There is Photo fix as well.
Google maps is available in the phone, it works very quick but its just an approximate.
My Aino came bundled with the following apps.
AccuWeather
Bluetooth Robot (No idea what it is for)
Facebook
Music Quiz
Photo Mate
Twitter
Wisepilot (30 day navigation)(I have not tried it yet)
Youtube

The so called "creaking sound" (I wouldn't consider) IS "not from the battery cover". It's from the keyboard. And once again its not a creaking sound (For me). Its just the keypad base which rests on a thin sheet as I said earlier. Its like a crispy sound but not annoying.
There is SIP too in Aino. Which mean you can make Voip calls from your phone.
Till now I have not experienced any sort of problem in my touch screen. I even tried swapping and tapping the screen very fast and not problems at all. Response was very quick and smooth.

A spokesman for the world fourth largest manufacturer of mobile phones, admitted that “a number of users of the new smartphone Sony Ericsson Aino had experienced problems using the touch screen.” Obviously we’re working as fast as possible to resolve (the problem), “Sony Ericsson Mattias Holm said the spokesman.
He also assured that “Aino sold in limited quantities in the UK, so this problem only affects a very small number of customers.”
Earlier this week, Carphone Warehouse, Europe’s biggest seller of mobile phones, temporarily withdrew the smartphone from Sony Ericsson Satio also due to a software problem.
Holm said the software problems had affected only a small number of customers in Britain and had not damaged the Sony Ericsson brand.
“At the moment we see no harm or damage caused,” said Holm. “It’s an issue that affects only contained a small number of consumers.”

please if it is possible clarify the issue considering the creaking of the keybad, does that sound from the back cover of the phone as k 530 or from where does the sound come from?

I so badly wanted to buy this phone.. I think I ll go for satio.. apparently, this phone got touch screen issues.. software issue.. even sony ericsson agreed it is true..

I have given my opinion already. But further more about the design. I am a person who sees every detail in phone whether it be a creaking sound, loose battery or misaligned body. Aino has no such disabilities its a healthy phone :-).
Secondly you said that SE needs special treatment and care, I don't think so. I have used SE phone and they are very durable and long lasting. Non of my SE phones had any sort of even paint peeling (unless a person has acid sweating hands...just joking). I had K810i no problem, W880i no problem, C902 no problem (which a such a beautiful looking phone), K310 no problem etc. But yes Nokia phones are more strong (than SE) even if it falls away from your hands on what ever type of surface. But who's gonna throw their phone anyway?
Lastly a comment was put up for the Creaking Keypad of Aino. I get that sound too and it is "not a creaking keypad" by any means. I have a Nokia N95 and can give an example of creaking sound from it and the slider touching the keypad while closing (N95). Aino keypads are very sturdy and well fit. I can enlighten what that sound is about. Every pad is stuck/placed on a flexible sheet (I don;t exactly know what that sheet is called) but its something like a soft papery plastic, and the sound it makes is that from the keypad base sheet and nothing else. I get this same sound from my other phone in Nokia E66, the keys which are on the slider near by the D-pad area. They make that sound too. It's to give a soft touch feel to the keypad instead of the tic-tic sound. I agree the keypad in quite narrow but I got used to it soon as don't have hefty fingers also the palm needs some adjustments when using the phone in open slide mode. Lack of front facing camera is the only drop away but Aino can make video calls.

Sony Ericsson bites more than she can chew all of these features are too much for the conventional software, even their older phones had issues , i am not surprised that this one has as well
