This phone is really great .. I'm using this phone for 3 months now and it's working well with its good performance..seems that sony ericsson won't change the features of its phones

Where is the phone made?? Have you experienced problems with stickng keys but without pressing the camera button while you press the numeric keys??

At last, after lots of research and searching I got one of this for me.
The feed back.... not realy so good to exchange my K608i for this. But I did that... It got main addvatage over K608i that it has a memory slot. and takes picture better. and plays music better too. But the main function of a Phone, ie. make call and receive call, my K550 dosen't do that good. Its ear speaker is not loud and hard to hear in noisy condition. and sound is not that clear in normal condition too.
The most annoying thing is that it dosen't display anything in stand-by when the screen goes dark. No Clock. No missed call indication. No New messege indication. why it is like that. I never seen a phone that dosen't display any thing in stand-by.
Is it my phone's perticular problem , or everybody has the same ?. Please answer...

This is true that this the only very good in camera quality in 2MP range and its having very good camera features and its performance is very very good.
Im using this phone for the last 2 months and it works very good. Im very much satisfied with its performance. And it has very good music player. It sound like W-serice. Most of the people thinging that K750i is the best. S its truy K750i is the best phone before K550i is present. K550i is having advance features and its the new model and a latest one. Why the people going for the old model and for old features. Come and use the advance features of this phone. Then you will feel the difference. Dont stike to the old one. We can say K550i is the latest version of K750i. So go for latest version.....
With in one month I have taken more than 500 pictures from this phone. Goooooooooooo forrrrrrrrr kkkkkkkkkkkkk550iiiiiii.

There is no second opinion of the features and performance of the phone K550i. Its a great phone. And this the one the best phone haveing 2MP. If any one in a dialoma of buying this great phone, pls dont stop go ahead and buy this one, you will love it.
It has very good clear display, good music out put toooo. And its camera is ammazing..... You will not stop taking pictures .... Its worth for money. For keypad pls cover this phone with silicon key pad cover and fiber body.

I bought this phone at sony ericsson store and hey it's great! Photos are great, looks of the phone is very nice, i was using nokia 6280 before and i would say that this phone is hot!

well, friends i have study a lot about se k550i , k750i, and w810i, i think among this 3 phone:
for photography SE 750i is best,but havent any edge support, so those who want to use internet
using this phone those become disappoint. in this condition they can chose k550i or w810i,
there is a problem with the new kind of keypad of k 550i, in this section w810i is better(for those who want to sms or brous by the set.)
in a word....
k750i---> is best for photography
k550i---> is best for its features(contain all required function you needed in minimum cost)
w810i---> is best for sms mob. chat. Walkman
of course.
by the way i am confused about the keypad of k550i because i dont have use yet. is it becomes damages if i use it roughly please
ans this question..
and i request gsmarena to compare the camera
of k550i and k750i

IMO, the K550 is a better device overall than the K750. While the K750 is slightly better in capturing photos in less-than-perfect conditions, the K550 has a better form factor, better design (save for the keypad), better battery life (I have to charge mine once every five days, while my K750 needed a charge every three days) and less weight.
If you loved the K750 because of its features, you'll love the K550 as well because it packs the same punch in a much sexier frame. Although the keypad takes some getting used to (I had a bit of trouble at the start with my 200 a day SMS habit), it performs well and the phone itself is very sturdy (going strong and scratchless after eight drops).
Kudos to SE for a great and budget-friendly phone.

the numeric keys sometimes stick and unresponsive for a fraction of a second. hey,is it possible to turn off the shutter(camera) sound? and is there a way to fast forward/rewind a video clip? thanks in advance for your replies.

hmmm... with regards to GSM Arena's review on this phone, they stated that it has a shorter focal length(3.8mm) compared to the K750 (4.8mm) which then makes the k550 have a smaller sensor so it does not produce pic qualities as good as the k750's... but read this:
"A system with a shorter focal length has greater optical power than one with a long focal length." -from Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia
I got quite confused with the two statements because they contradict one another... could someone please explain to me about the focal length in Optics and Imaging please? thanks... here's my e-mail:

I recently bought this phone. I had some doughts regarding all its comments. But it is certainly the budget phone, which has everything you could ask for. I did read about someone saying that the phone is not as sturdy as the K750i. Yes, it does feel filmsy. But I think it is due to the fact that both were made of different materials(which makes the k550i much lighter than k750i). And please stop comparing with the nokia N-series. They are a different catogory of phones(k810, 790 and the upcoming k850 would be better comparisson).Does anyone know where to get quality games for free? And Can someone please tell me how to get the best photographs through your k550i?

i have also heard the that the phone gets heated up while talking.. i have a high impulse on this phone but thats the only thing which is stopping me to go for this ... is it really true ????
if then is it with all the sets or with some ??? if any of the user can tell the truth?

Hi All,
I bought this SE K550i on 15th september and its costs 8600/-.
I observed the following after using this phone (comparison with k550/k750):
1). pictures in day light - 8 / 8.5
2). pictures in dark - 4.5 / 7
3). features and performance - 9 / 8
4). sound - 8 / 8
5). key pad is hard but ease to use after
regular use.
6). games - only 1 puzzle slider.
7). Memory - 128 card + 73 internal.
8). overall it is slightly better than K750i
in performance.
9). but k750i had a better camera.
can Any body me a gud game and steps to downlaod thro data cable.

dear all.. read about se 550i so much and i am tempted to buy it... but two last doubts...
#1)i am an avid ebook reader and a SMSing freak... would anyone gide me about which software/application will work good in 550i to read ebooks(550i being a java phone..)? if libris ebook reader works on it does it allow us to change the font COLOR of text and the background color? if not then whichpplication will allow me so? this ebook reading habit of mine is the only thing thats holding me back frm buying this phone....
#2)can we extend the memory to 2 gb without hampering the phone's speed and performance?
i would really really appreciate if someone gives an experienced and genuine advice... looking forward toa quick reply... thanks bye... cheers!
