I am currently in USA but I am from India. I am planning on buying the K790 but i am confused if i should buy the american version K790a or international version K790i or just buy K800. I have a cingular connection here which works on 850/1900 but i don't know what AIRTEL frequency is back in india. Can anyone tell me what i should buy ??

don't know what to bye.......or n73 or k790,i like making pictures and listening music,i could say that both are almost the same at this categories.my cousin had a n73 and he told me that n73 it works hard with that simbian style :( sometimes it blocks and sometimes it reacts in a few seconds,for example : if he push the menu button you have to wait a second,it doesnt reactes like usualy phones.you might say that 1 second it isn't much,but because we are used to phones that reacte at the same time when you press the botton it makes you to hate that simbian style.thats what i know of n73 from my cheacking.
k790 i didnt tryed yet so i dont have much to say about it.i think that i will borough it to see how it works.i hope that it works fasster than n73

now please tell me about wich cell better for me

Hi all,

I upgraded my firmware yesterday via mobile update feature. My new firmware is R1JC002... Im not aware of all fixes yet but the video preview is working great now.. Someone please find out other fixes.Thanks

I bought this handset last week, it has been awsome so far. Excellent camera quality and excellent camera functions. It has a brilliant screen and an excelent keypad. Before buying this I thought may be it will have an uncomfortable keypad, but its totally opposite, it has been designed very well. Camera Flashh serves its purpose very well, but cant rely on it if you want to shoot a subject which is a bit far, e.g. beyong 4 - 5 feet.
As far as the music player is concerned, it is far better than I expected, however, one thing that SE should have enabled which is present in W series is to control music player when the keypad is locked. I cant fastforward the songs without taking out the phone out of my pocket, unclocking it and bringing the media player in focus. The only functions I can perform with locked keypad are volume, and skiping to next/previous tracks and stoping the playback. But I have to unlock the phone to start the media player. But sound quality is very close to my Brother's W810. It is much much better in looks and functions than W810. Very well finished and strongly packaged handset. Very happy with the purchase.

Please let meknow if someone knows how to perform fastforward/rewind with leypad locked.

The feature I liked the most is it is very easy to use it is a USB Mass Storage device. Plug in to any computer (XP/2000/2003 or later) and it will detect it without asking for drivers. Top two buttons are dedicated for camera functionality. Pressing the right button takes you directly to camera album. Left button takes you to the last viewd picture in your camera album.

Shortcuts are very well managed. Joystick shortcuts are completely customizable and work very well. Joystick has been improved and in the latest firmware, no issues.

Battery time is excelent. I think it is much better than my brother's W810.

K750 is a great phone and i had it for a few months. But i myslef upgraded to the k790, giving the K750 to my sister. K790's display is better, bigger, and clearer, the camera flash between the 2 is not comparable (k790's has a real Xenon flash, which is just like a regular digital camera, it will light up a complete dark room making seem like its daylight, this feature beats every 5mp cellphone outhere because they all have LED flashes instead of the superb Xenon flahs) Whats the point of having a nice 5mp camera if u cant take good pictures whn its dark...K750's twin LED flash works preety well in a coplete dark room, but it works better if you are closer to the camera, but the Xenon flash kills the LED and can take way farther pictures in complete darkness. with better quality. Internet because of the Edge optionon the k790 is WAY faster then k750, For example google maps works SO MUCH faster on the k790. Browsing the Internet is way better on K790, its more advanced and thought out, and much more user friendly (software wise and physically,diffirent view modes, landscapes, screen zooming and much more....) I often hop on google or any other site for a quick check up of anything you want, and come out VERY satisfied, it was harder to do that on the k750) Sound quality is preety good on both but sometimes i think the k750 is a bit better when turned up all the way and louder(mostly no static on k750 even when turned up all the way) THe camera on K790 is WAY better, i debated for a long time whether to spend more to upgrade to K790 and im glad i did.I like the button layout on the k790 more. Scrolling through the pictures and the use of the phone as a camera is way easier then the k750 (the 2 buttons by the ear piece and yes they are buttons, not too many people know, they really help scrolling through the pics turning the phone into a digital camera and easily viewing single pic per screen, list of pics, 9 pics per screen, or 25 pics per screen so when you quickly choose a pic with out having to look through 1 by one you can ver quickly zoom into it) I loved the fact that you could use the 2 bright (WHITE) LED's on the k750 as a flashlight that was a VERY VERY useful feature and MANY MANY times came in handy. But There is a software to make the yellow LED on the K790 stay on all the time and not just blink for a few secs, email me at leokats2d@yahoo.com and i will send it to you, but the 2 white LEDs on the k750 work way better as a flashlight (they are brighter, white, cleat and light up you path way better.) AND NO You can not have the flash ON all the time, that would probably kill the battery. (K790 has a very kool red eye option, where the Xenon flash blinks once, and right away again so the pupils get smaller and dont reflect light as much, greatly reducing the red eye effect)
OK lets sum up the 2 phones to help you decide between k750 and k790...
K750 is a great phone and was carefully thought out for a long time without many glitches and any major problems, you will definetly not be dissapointed with it for the amount of money it costs, but....
Both cameras work great but the extra 1.15 megapixel really makes a diffirence. K790 has many options that new SONY digital cameras have due to the CYBERSHOT additions to the phone and the XENON flash turns the phone into an actual camera (there is no doubt about the camera on k790 being way better (more features as well such as best pic and many more...) Using the k790 as a camera is very easy and very convinient, easier then the K750 version.
Using the phones as music players....
K750 is a bit more adapted (i'll explain y), and sounds better when turned up all the way minimal "static noise if ever" K790 DOESNT have the mega bass feature (if people care it does give an extra boom when the headphones are on, which is nice). Now we come down to a problem, k750 uses the older Memory stick pro duo, yes its way bigger then the M2 the k790 uses. But, the ProDuo, has been out for WAY longer and came out with all the way up to 8GB per stick as i know so far. The M2 barely has the 2GB and thats not even a fact, (NOBODY in america knows or has heard of M2, Its very hard to get a hold off) Th ProDuo is very popular and readily available almost anywhere. So the capacity of memory makes a big diifirence, (I mean why have a good mp3 player if you dont have a lot of memory to download all of your songs, and having to go back and forth do delete them) If it was up to me i would much rather have the Pro DUO being in both phones, and not have to wait so a bigger size of M2 comes out. And as people understand it, bigger memory stick means WAY MORE music, and way more space for the pictures. The look of the k790 is just awesome, I very often hear WOW is that a camera or a phone? The Cybershoot partnership with SONY makes a diffirence trust me. So i guess its whatever people need the phone for and if you are willing to spend an extra few hundreed $ get the k790 and you will not be dissapointed its an AWESOME phone i'm still in love with it, (No glitches and i've had it for over 5 months) But if you do live in America make sure to get the k790 "A" version, it's reception is MUCH better (In america that is, but check the local towers and the local bands) then the k790's european version, due to the diffirence in bands. THAT is a big fact, i myself spend $100 more and bought the American verison from the actaul company because everybody else (usually) sells the European version. I have bought this phone for 3 months. So far,
I feel very satisfied for all the feature and
reliabilty. One and the only problem is "recording the radio" function.

I tried to check in the manual, I can not find
any function for this matter.

I need your help and assistance for this matter

1. does its music player has MEGA BASS?
2. Whether its flash can be used as normal light(like K 750i)?

I am from Indonesia. I bought this camera phone 6 months ago and on the whole, the performance is satifactory, particularly the 3.2 pixel cyber shot camera. Anyway, I have problem with the rear sliding case. It has been scrathed quite a lot and I am planning to have it replaced by a new case. Is there any case for k790 or k800 available on the market? Rerading Watching Videos: Videos can be watched in both modes (Vertical-the normal mode/Horizontal)

To View full screen Videos in Hrizontal Mode, just go Entertainment>Video Player>Play & then press "More" to view in Horizontal mode. During full screen play you can have more options like zoom, slow motion or even capture Frame as picture.

Regarding KeyPad: Well its keypad is fine, i am using this baby for almost 7 months & nothing went wrong with its keypad. Also its joystick is working fine as well.

To use this baby quick, just use shortcut for menu which don't involve Joystick that much. For Example, just use number keys for accessing sub menus from main menu instead using Joystick. Just like Menu Codes for old Nokia phones, its the same science.

Regarding Memory Card: If your phone is not uploading files from Memory Card to ur PC & vice versa.

First, format ur memory card & after that Just give master reset to ur phone meaning it will reset all phone settings back to factory settings. This will solve ur problem, but please make backup of your Phone book first because Master Reset will delete all files (Phonebook, messages, calls records)

Well its a Superb Phone, No doubt on that. Its Battery life, its features, its performance, its camera awesome.

To upgrade Phone Software: Just go in Settings>Update Service>Search for Update ,if your phone contains already updated Software version then it will notify you in advance but if it doesn't then it connects via GPRS & downloads its latest software version from SE Website automatically. After downloading via GPRS it asks you to that Do you want to install or not? Just click ok. After that it will take round about 15 to 20 minutes & restarts several times but don't touch it in between this whole period, ok. After installing it restarts itself & works back to normal.

Hey...I have had this phone for about 2 months now, and its amazing, I havent had a single issue with it. yes the keys are small but thats no real problem for texting. The screen is awesome...and camera is the shiznit. I use the sh%t out of the Blog and post my pics online..I just downloaded Operamini 3.0 as my web browser and it rocks. Also I use Gmail software to check my email....BUY THIS PHONE

Hey guys i just purchased this phone and i absolutely love it, and i bought a 512 mb memory card for it. The problem is i cant seem to upload anything i saved on the memory card to the comp, only files saved on the phone memory are uploaded, same thing goes to when im transferring music to my phone...the songs go to the phone memory isntead of my memory card, making it full. I really dont know how to change the settings, i read the bok a couple of times it says nothin. So please help me figure out why i cant access my memory card files...
