Iam SE W800i user,Iam lithuanian, living somewhere in Iceland:P Bought this phone about a month ago, bought 2 phones in time:),and guess what? For all 2 phones memory card gets bugged, and gets bugged after a while of using included cable, using BT with laptop transfering data causes no problem, using card reader(witch is the fastest way to transfer any data)causes no problem to,but that damn cable..The provider changed cards, but that little problem leaved dissapointment on SE, Maybe SW can help...I really like SE brand, they phones are really smart, even without Symbian.Iam thinking of buying k800 or k790,but there shows up Nokia with its killer-phone n73,mh...what to do,they practicaly almost identical, and cost all 2 a little bit:)So i wanna hear someones opinion,Iam afraid of using Symbian(never had a pone with this OS),so if anyone wanna share its expeirence - go on!I wanna make right choice:)Thanks in advance!

SJ,
I just did some research on both phones and this is what I have decided upon. First, K800 is actualy quad band phone not tri-band.
It has voice/data of following bands: UMTS / GSM 900 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900. UMTS is 3G that is standard in europe and america as well for voice & data. Cingular/AT&T already is using it and T-mobile will by 2007. Verizon is using different 3G which is preety stupid because they will be the only once using different 3G then anyone else in America and World. http://www.gsmworld.com/roaming/gsminfo/cou_us.shtml
Stupid, Stupid, stupid idea IMO. Customers will probably leave because of that. Anyway, i'm not interested in Verison anyway since their pricing always been too high.

SEBASS,
Sorry for the miscommunication, I was specifically talking about the K790a. Yes, even I was so disappointed SE didn't go with a quad-phone for the K800 (probably because K790 are "cheaper" to make, so SE figures there is no point in selling it in US). Based on what I have seen from SE (ignoring the P990), SE is pretty good about releasing a phone 3 or 4 months after it shows up in the coming soon section. So, my guess would be that this phone should be available in July or August.

One more thing i noticed. K800 comes out first and no sign of k790 in sight. Also even when k790i (international) is released it will still be NOT 850MHz only k790a will be 850Mhz and the main question to ask is who knows when k790a will be released in America since carriers here are at least 2 year behind europe so I don't think k790a will be seen anytime this year. Your thoughts please ?

SJ,
I get what you are saying so it sounds like K790i would be a better choise but what about EDGE. k790i uses EDGE for data and Cingular already is using 3G and T-mobile by 2007 will use it as well. For $600 both of those phones should have been quad band. You think EDGE will still be available at thier networks to use?

SEBASS,
As far as I know, the only problem with getting the K800 is that it uses 900/1800/1900mhz, but Cingular and (I believe) T-Mobile USA is 850/1800/1900mhz. The K800 will still work, but u lose out on part of the network.

I am trying to decide wheather to choose K790i (EDGE)or K800i (3G). K800 has extra camere, video phone and blogger service and k790i does not. From what I hear 3G is comming this year to T-mobile and Cingular so unless that does not happen k800 is the choice. I'm not sure what is going to be the standard in U.S. ANY SUGGESTIONS ?
