Thanks for the advice.
Problem is that when I open the TRANSFER menu the headset(or bluetooth) does not show up. Otherwise to answer calls it works OK. I upgraded the phone from Ericsson site yesterday but the problem is still there.

Got the phone yesterday... it's much faster than my ex P990. Only it doesn't have the 5-way navigation key.

Dear p1i users, greetings to all.p1i works well with all applications. I've got iskoot,fring applications for skype talk.i am unable to make calls from fring and it says it doesn't work on gprs connection.
But it looks like iskoot for skype works on gprs connection.
I am just trying now and let me give u the feed back soon.
As per the yahoo messenger, better download IM+ all in one messenger from shape service ltd.it has got all messengers like yahoo,gtalk,msn,icq,aol etc.it's fantastic application. I have R9G007 firmware. Nice time.

It's possibe to use skype with this phone & VOIP. You just need some software to use it. Try FRING, its free software for VOIP calls and has messenger capabilities.
As for yahoo messenger, you first have to go to the yahoo wap site. They have the messenger for mobile phones.

That's a program error. What program were you using when this error message popped out? Or you may have a program running in the background that you are not aware of & it is not working properly.

Hi!
Battery life is quite on the average for a smartphone. Honestly, everyone should know that any smartphone, especially since this is a 3G enabled phone, will only have a 2-3 day battery life depending on the usage.
If you want the P1 battery life to last more than that then i advise you to turn off the 3G & just switch to GSM mode & avoid turning on the wi-fi when you are not using it.

Battery life seems to be bad... I need to charge my phone every two days...
Once the phone is fully charged, even by using say 1.5 hrs of talk time.. the battery level goes down to 50%..

Mr.Robbie,
First pair ur bluetooth speaker with code 0000 and then go to music player, open settings in more options of music player ,select transfer sound thru bluetooth device. It works well.

Mr.Tamarel,
There is no problem with the firmware R9G007 with respect to battery level.i have the same firmware and it shows 100% battery after full charging and hardly it takes 1hr30min to charge fully.
I have a query to p1i users: did u find error message like 'Application closed' application: Main, Reason code: E32USER-eBase, Reason number: 47
This is the msg displayed on screen sometimes. What do u mean by this and how to overcome the problem.

One more thing: the battery indicator.
In G0007 it was indicating 99% as the maximum.
In H0004 it goes to 100%, but it introduced the noticable break at 85%.
It seems with the upgrade it became more technical rather than an avegare guess.

Some info on battery life:
- I expect 1 week of usage in "normal phone" mode: sitting on 2G only, making a couple of calls and send & receive some sms, plus turning off for the night
- if I use it to listen to music at work, in the morning and in the afternoon as well, I still can't consume more than 50%; I expect it to play music for 8-10 hours continously
As I heard li-pol batteries don't like to be depleted completely.
Also, it fast charges to 85%, then completes with trickle charge.
This confirms my observation that above 85 or below 20% the battery indicator is not accurate. I never let it deplete completely though.
The manual says: charge at least for 4 hours and the indicator might show up only after half an hour...

just got it for a week. it's fantastic! music, radio, crystal screen, and apps. one thing to mention is the GPRS connection is not fast enough to initiate many web apps (eg. push mail, im, etc.)

No 5-way directional keys?? Going up by pressing ALT+UP takes 10x more effort! I tried it and Jog-Dial can't match a 5-way keys! That's why i'll rather stay with my P990i for the mean time.

Sohag: I don't know if there are firmware differences(I don't think so though). When it is predicting the letter, does it still type in the letter? Sometimes it is not definitely accurate.
Anyways whether you are using quickword or sms, click on the main screen(usually you have to click on the box for messaging). On your upper right hand corner if it says "英", then you are in English mode, no need to press any other options. Just curious, do you have T9 on? I turn it off when I'm writing. You should see a black triangle in the middle of the page. When you are writing
right beside the triangle you are writing with caplocks on, under it , you are writing with caplocks off and above it are numbers. tthe button beside "英" is for ?." etc... Note: the position of the triangle is very important. Hope that helps. Ask me again if there is still a problem, cheer!
