    Hi.

I checked quickoffice on a Nokia phone as well and it has the same limitation. The workaround would be to use an another program, even a java one.

          To kamran:

Yes i previously had a P990i & later sold it to buy the P1i that i have now.

Feature-wise, the P1i is almost identical to the P990i. The major difference would be the increased memory & the 3.2 mp camera. Because of that increased memory, the P1 is highly stable for a PDA phone. If you liked the features of the p990, u will like the P1 even more becoz of its stability. No more random restarts & programs suddenly closing like the p990.

The lastest firmware that i know of is R9J005, available for World Generic region CDA's.

            Hi,
            I am looking to buy a P1i.
I was curious to know if I can make an mp3 file as the ring tone or any other tone, e.g. alarm.

Originally, phones were made for calling other people. Nowadays, phones have become computers are are more complicated to use. This is why we have laptops!

                      Hi!
                      To Faryal

Tested your queries regarding the new firmware and this is what i found out:

Notes: I tried composing a very long note, even copied the whole article of a magazine (which is about half a page). Encountered NO problems whatsoever. Wrote more than 3000 characters.

Messages: Wrote a 3145 character message (concantenated/separated into 21 messages if sent). No problems encountered.

Text file: The phone still has a problem reading *.txt files. Phone hangs & i had to restart it. No problems with *.doc files though so i guess the Quickoffice software that comes with the phone doesn't fully support .txt files.

Contacts: Tamarel and I have the same findings, created a contact with 24 number fields as well as other fields. NO problems encountered.

For the alphanumeric character in the number field, the software doesn't allow it so you can only write numbers in the number field.

The firmware that i have right now is:
                      Phone: R9J005
                      CDA: R6F38

My phone is World Generic 1
Please check your phone CDA version for your region. just follow this link:
                      http://uiq3.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/CDA/P1i

Only the World Generic Firmware has the available R9J005 firmware update, the rest have the R9H004 firmware.

                      Thats all...
                      Cheers!

                                Faryal SHaKeeL:

                                I'm having H0004 atm.

"Contacts About How Much Fields we can add in a Contact? Unlimited Like P910i?"

Yes, I was able to add 20 of the same text field to a contact. All were saved and displayed properly (among the rest of the fields).

"Can we write the Alpha Numeric in front of number same thing like in P910i?"

I tried to enter alphanumeric to a phone number field in a contact, but I wasn't able to, it did not save it. Not sure if you meant this.
