Hey shakeel!
its me, unknown person

peace brother!

i tried sending a test message to my phone and the time is correct. i have not really focused on this issue as im not after the time. although i tested it when you asked and i also told my friend to send me a test message and the time is correct.

this maybe an issue with
1) timezone setting on the phone (maybe using automatic update time or the otherway around or something)
2) your network provider's server time (this used to be a problem when i was using Nokia N80 the time displayed when i receive a message is around an hour late or something).

ill see if i can ask my other friend who is also using p990i if he experience your problem

    to Apocalypse

    it depends on your lifestyle.

if you dont really need a lot of features in a phone like p990i, then go for motorola.

but if your life mostly involves work related or everyday personal routine wherein you need a good calendar, organizer, note jotter, document viewer, wifi email and internet access. etc, then go for p990i.

im a user of p990i and although i am not an executive type of person, i use all the features of p990i such as the task list (all things i need to do for a particualr day), note jotter (taking down important data or information like address, item list i was asked to buy, etc), email (when i need to check any new job offers that needs urgent reply while im on the road), internet (when i need a quick search for info), calendar (for my appointments), document viewer/editor (for keeping my resume and updating it), etc... all these functions i use and cannot live without thats why i cant use motorola... moto v3x might have these functions but just basic or not easy to use compared to a touchscreen phone.

now i have a friend who owns v3x which she mainly use for text message and calls and a basic use for keeping short notes. she doesnt use email, internet, and organizer functions though she's more busy than me when it comes to work. she does keep data in her office PC and only access them there and not on the go...

so see it depends on your lifestyle. and i dont know your lifestyle so i cant just answer your question and say to get p990i or v3x... only you can answer which phone fits you, but i hope my post will help you in some way. =)

        HI,

I'm a bit disappointed.. not with SE P990i, but with the comments i found here. I am actually looking for a comment about SE p990i on how good/bad it is, its advantages/disadvantages compared to other mobile phones, things like that.

I am currently comparing Motorola v3x and SE P990i and im having a hard time choosing betweent the two. this is because v3x is significantly slim compared to p990i, a lot cheaper, and looks more elegant but, p990i has more features (ofcourse) than v3x. So what do you guys think should i buy, SE P990i or Motorola v3x.

              TO RIZWAN...

i think ur the authority on p990..so plz help me out...phone's touchscreen has stopped working..it doesn't respond to touch...i also posted my problem probably two days ago...guys talking about calibrating screen...how can i calibrate screen when it doesn't respond to touch..what do u think whether its some hardware problem or some software problem...if its hardware then i might be sending it back to the company giving warranty and they will get it done..if its some software problem then upgrading the software will solve the problem??...its my first ever touchscreen phone so iam afraid upgrading might require tapping the screen and i might mess up in the middle of nowhere...so pplz tell me what to do....thanks

NAD INFORMATION work some time's then someone ignore basic thought's.
if you install 'R6E28' in your phone then,
                    phone : cxc162037 R9GA001
                    Bluetooth : cxc162058 R5A01
                    Organiser : cxc162036 R6E28
                    CDA : 162007/2 R6E28
set automaticaly. It miens they are part of
the new firmware "R6E28". so it is not
                    compulsary to define separately.

reconditioned unit means it has factory defects (rejected units from factory not 2nd hand) and been repaired by another party before selling it, which means the quality is not that reliable anymore because it does not undergo manufacturers quality inspection after the repair. that is the reason why reconditioned units are cheaper.

For better 'battery backup' first you set the
power saver to 1 min. then set the sms to gsm only and screen saver to 'none'.
your battery going extra 1hrs ahead.
Enjoy with this my practical clue's.

i read someone here wrote about using a protective lens cover of ds for p990i and cutted it out. so anyone knows, if there is a real dedicated one for p990i, i mean a real protective case that's meant for p990i. putting up a ds cover lens protecter is good idea of replacing the ones not available, but i might mess up if i cut through the sides of the cover, and might not fit well on the p990i's screen..

i have read several opinions here, and found out good upgrades on the new firmware for the p990i. was there any downside? i mean, good features from the previous firmware, that was remove from the latest firmware, and those things that should have been improved or change that was not given attention. thanks p990i users...

and one more things, does the word "recondition" means the unit was already used by others from other country for several days then were sold again? or the unit was broken, and it's body was replaced? is that always the case? but nevertheless, i should get a unit that comes from france and not china, and how can you determine that? is there an indication at the back, inside, saying that it came from france or china? thanks..

recondition units from china are sold here in the philippines that's why it went down to 14,000? that's cruel. and how would you know or determine if the unit came from france or china, if you just want to buy somewhere else's store? is there an indication at the back inside the battery if it came from china or france? need help from this P990i users.

control panel-setup wizard and there you can find the calibration option.
