i tried downloading some software. it did'nt go and froze. ever since i could'nt anything it just give error. can anyone help.

Does This PHone HANG? because i came to know from a friend that it is slow and it hangs some times. i want to buy it so i am worried and confused. plz do let me know. il be gratefull.

New Firmware out !!!
Too lazy to find out if it has any advantages to the previous firmware. Has anyone noted some significant changes?

I've been using P990i for almost a year now, and still its the best pda in the market, sadly to hear for its price depreciated so fastly, its value seem to go down either.. you can no longer compete with other high end units mostly from nokia like its E90 or even the N95.. it becomes "cheap" almost like many could now afford to buy it. SE should not allow this, in order to retain its high value and elegance, because it is the only phone line which the P-series they only boast to the executive level. this makes sony ericsson so desperate to compete with nokia which is the leading mobilephone company here in the philippines. but still i will go for P990i until the release of the iphone this coming january 2008. in my opinion, P990i still rules in pocket mobile computer in terms of functionality and features.

yup, but i heard that there are Generic World 1 and Generic world 2.
i think the latest firmware that i can load in my phone depends on this.

to see CDA Code. go to da Main menu and top of da screen there is "Main menu" English writing just press that and little list will come out . than press "system information" it will show up ver. of ur CDA etc.

To Rxxh,
It does, in fact depending on the number you save, there's (h) that represent "home" and (w) represents "work" next to the name when you received a call with his/her name saved on your phone. Look out for it! :-)

I need to ask one thing.
Suppose i have save a contact with the name XYZ, and have added several numbers under this name e.g like office phone number, home, cell phone number.
When i receive the call from this contact, only the name appears on the screen XYZ, and the number do not appear, so i cannot have any idea that the user is calling from his mobile, home phone, office phone etcc. In previous SE set like K750i , W800, the name and number both appear when u get any call.
Is there some option to enable this, or this phone do not have this facility, If someone knows pls reply me wid the option whr to enable this.

I used the Nintendo DS screen protector for P990. Gamestop brand is really good, no adhesive, it sucks to the screen by itself and you can adjust it, very clear, cost $5 for 2 pieces. Very simple, you have to mark it and then cut to size with a scissor. I bought my leather case downtown LA for $5, cut a slot on the side for the headphone and it fit perfectly.
