hi, i got a new p990i but i find some problem in browsing the web...when i do web i get a error saying kern-exe error code 3...this keeps on coming if i browse or even suddendly it appears in my screen...can somebody help and let me know what to do?

p990i is much better than P1. its hard to text, no 3g, its not user friendly, i think price of it will go down in months time. you can have your p990 looks P1 by removing the flip.

hi guys...plz help me....my p990's touch screen has stopped working..the screen doesn't respond to touch... i am using the jogdial for using it...plz help me what to do...any help will be highly appreciated..thanks in advance.....

Hey P990i users, i dreamed to have this mobile, now i had my P990i form about one month and uptill now i couldn't access the internet weather throuh Wi-Fi or 3G technology !! could u help Plz,,,another thing about the screen protector & case do anyone use it, give me ur experince Plz, Thx All

after updating the phone,it works good&fast.
but its still show "low memory",and my space bar does not work in new firmware R6D23.I am waiting for new&perfect firmware.after all this phone have a good camera,processor,very clean display&call quality.

THanks for your response. Most prob wht you said is causing the problem. Mine is from France and another from China. But shouldn't every update be the same. Impossible for france unit to have a newer version wheres else the china unit is having an older version. The china unit hangs quite often. hmm...

i already installed update manager but when i open it, it doesent continue with the firmware update. my phone is detected by the computer but nothing happens. hope you guys could help me. thanks in advance

the people here who always complains about their p990i freezing and crashing on them are the people who do not know hot to update the firmware of their p990i

at first i was reluctant to buy this phone due to bad comments but i still bought it last jul 11, 2007.and so far this phone honestly is great,u juz need to learn the programs first and how to use each menus.help menu means a lot of importance. u need to read it first, why coz most of the things that u want to know about your phone are written there.i bought my cell at sta.lucia mall and it's still fine nman.neither hang or crash.battery obviously wont stay charge for 3days or more becoz this cell is mre alikey a pc.so kung ang laptop baterries nga would last 2.5 to 5 hrs max swerte pa at kaya pa ng pda to last longer than that even your running every programs of it.take note playing games, running office etc.always:
end task all programs in ur task manager and learn to read ur help menu!even you press ur back key and close the programs you opened, stil end task it in ur task mnager.this phone is alike a computer.once you open so many programs on the desktop,the system will either hang or restart becoz ur physical memory minimized its capacity.same thing with this celphone.always bear in mind that hi-tech cell programs are the same with pc's.so do the precautions ur using in ur pc. un lang po.

its the worst phone that i bought so far.
battry is so weak and it turn off as soon as hearing sound "'beep""
cpu proccess is very bad and loading pdf and word is slow

I need to ask one thing.
Suppose i have save a contact with the name XYZ, and have added several numbers under this name e.g like office phone number, home, cell phone number.
When i receive the call from this contact, only the name appears on the screen XYZ, and the number do not appear, so i cannot have any idea that the user is calling from his mobile, home phone, office phone etcc. In previous SE set like K750i , W800, the name and number both appear when u get any call.
Is there some option to enable this, or this phone do not have this facility, If someone knows pls reply me wid the option whr to enable this.

Sony P990 the best phone and deal ever under $350 USD. I'm super happy with it. Looks and feels is great. Phone calls voice very clear. Buy this phone and you will not regret it. Buy it now before they're out and you'll end up buying a used one. Don't listen to the negative reviews because most likely they came from Nokia fans. I've been using P990 for 2 weeks now and it does not hang at all. You need to upgrade your phone. After the uprade, this phone is very fast and stable. I have not encounter any bugs yet. I played this phone for about 2-3 hours a day and the battery life is still around 50% left. Better battery life than my Dell PDA Axim X50v. I've been comparing this phone with my friends Sony P1, Nokia 93, and Palm Treo 750 and still like P990 most. The P990 screen resolution is so much better than Treo 750. P990 can play free .jar games with the D-pad and dial numbers easier than P1. With P1, I had a hard time playing these games because there is no D-pad and the keyboard is too small. Nokia 93-expensive(2X price), no keyboard/touch screen and screen is small.
To upgrade P990: 1. go to www.sonyericsson.com to download PC SUITE or it came with installation CD and install it to your computer so that the computer can see your phone. 2.download UPDATE SERVICE and install it to your computer. Open the UPDATE SERVICE while connecting your phone with included USB data cable and follow the onscreen directions. Make sure to backup your stuff. The update service takes about 10 mins.

To extend battery time: lower BRIGHTNESS in BACKLIGHT and turn off WIRELESS.
To prevent the phone from freezing: with flip open, tab on the TASK MANAGER on the bottom right of screen, then tab on OPEN and end programs previously opened.

This phone is real flop. I bought it brand new. It crashes often, bad reception and at the moment is undergoing serious harware replacement at the service center.
If you want a reliable phone that will not betray you, P990 is definitely NOT the one.
I am really frustrated with this SE.

Hi guyz and gurlz,
Need your advice on this problem i'm facing.
I've bought a set of P990i 1 month back and recently my friend bought a similar unit. I've done my firmware upgrade and now its on CXC162037 R9G007 version. My friend also did similar upgrade but hers became CXC162037 R9F011. I believe the R9F011 is an older version. Both of us did similar way of upgrading.
What could be the problem?
