This phone is not what its hyped up to be, it has a very bad flunctuating signal even though at times phone shows 5 bar signal calls go voice mail, camera is decent, but phone wise most depressing pile of you know !
At least if you already own it you can st least have fun scanning business cards no other decent purpose even the mp3 stinks.and so does the rediculos video recording.

onethings for sure p990i is still the best bargain phone out in the market (phil)...every week it always drop by hundred.....i been using it for a month now and still no problem..mines r9f...battery life 2 days., 3days max minimum usage using swiss manager pro for memory leakage problem,...sooo sexy without the flip....and sooo macho with it!!!go buy it now......pls!!!! the screen is bigger than the n95 of course without the flip...(but not as clear as n95) but who cares!! the touchscreen,big screen,form factor,wlan,office,camera,radio mp3 video, web browser,14500k!!!!...still the best phone over all..go hit me if you find other phones with soo much to offer like my p990i
it also have an instant messenger apps!!!!woah!!!(plenty of available apps for the record for free!!!!)

anyway, its ok to charge your P990i everyday but that should not be the case.
i normally charge it every 2 days. if im not using it that much, around 3 days.
i suggest you fully drain your battery (like it will not turn on anymore) then racharge it fully. to this cycle twice or three times. this will help you maximize the battery especially if its new and out of the box which is recommended. after the 3 full drain and full charge cycle, you can charge your phone normally even if its not fully drained yet.
for the time during sleep mode, i havent tried it yet and i think there's no option to do that (as far as i know). this will help save battery as well because if in case there's an option to display clock in sleep mode, the screen is still working and consuming battery energy. nothing is displayed on the screen during sleep mode hence it was called "sleep mode".
if you really want to see the clock or time, you can just press any key on the number pad and it will activate the screen again for a while. or you can turn off power save mode so that the phone always show the display, but it will sacrifice battery life.
there might be a software or some type of screensaver that we p990i users can install which shows the clock. this could be a third party software.

P990 is better than n73Me, N73 is good for capturing images and music, but it often hangs and opening an application is very slow, i sold my n73me to purchase p990, and im very happy with it. but the camera and music of n73 is way better than p990. overall, p990 wins

thanKs a lot ...but i dont want to go 4 other fones....4 me ..p990 is good..it's ok 4 me if it's cam is only 2MP..but i have some rumors that it hangs a lot..and very slow....i also love n73Me..but some say it lag a lot..and many problems..and the JOYSTICK...it's my big problem in n73....
w/c one is faster?..P990 or N73ME?...
w/c one can last for a long time?..
does the colour of P990 fades easily?...
w/c one deserves my money?...

you can increase battery life by
1) disabling Wireless LAN.
2) make sure Bluetooth is not ON all the time as well.
3) adjust screen brightness (control panel) from its default 90% down to 50% or as low as how much you can tolerate.
4) make sure Power save is enabled (control panel, Devices)

I have recently bought this phone. This is amazing, fast to work, great features, good screen & sound. I want to know two thing :-
1) How can battery life of this phone improved. What is the appx. duration this phone should run on higher usage.
2) How can clock be dispayed on screen while the phone is not in use (sleep mode)?

I think it is wrong to update to the latest version ; R9G007
Its restart many times if you want to synchronize
by the way , how we can get use of the "Payment transactions" ? or what the use of it ?

I turn on the phone and appears sony ericsson then appears the selection of turn on the phone when I select this option the phone blink 5 times and then remains still in the screen of sony ericsson and do nothing any key works whath can I do to recovery it it was working good before

at goldcrest...im not sure kung tama ung name basta ung cellphone center sa may G2 in front of giligans...
the performance is great, havnt had problems, its made from finland...

Screensaver Problem.
After upgrading the firmware to R9G007 the screensaver is does not work.
It was ok before the upgrade.
Can anybody help???
