Here in Taiwan most people are buying PDA Phones made locally over the P990 phone due to performance issues and other issues. The price here in Taiwan has took a beating really badly on this new P990 due to the fact that most people who bought one were very unhappy and unimpressed with the unit. They all complained that it was slow and always froze if not crashed. The Atom by O2 along with the Dopod is the best seller at the moment here in Taiwan.

To: Philm - I guess your concern is mainly on battery aspect. P990i has longer battery life than N95. Yesterday, I use N95 video streaming twice (morning & afternoon - I forgot how many minutes each), few outgoing & incoming calls, some video calls as well, few minutes exploring some more features. When I left the office in the afternoon, I've got only 3 bars remaining. But using the unit purely outgoing & incoming calls, it takes 2 days. However, P990i on normal use, it takes 3-1/2 days. I have mentioned that I am more proud of P990i in the sense that P990i looks decent & executive-looking device not to mention its touchscreen capability coupled with a 2.8" vivid screen. I'm really an avid fan of SE P-series. If I were you, choose P990i first and you wont regret it.

TO baby,,im interested in your opinion as you have one device which at the moment im hating and keep chucking to one side(p990i) and the n95..In real life do you get thru a day with heavy usage for example 2hrs mp3 playing 20-30 mins calls 20 txts 1hr video watching? A ltho this seemes a bad request as you will use your fone in a diffrent way but would it get me thru 16hrs of my usual waking day then charge overnight plus with you owning these smarfone types i think you would understand from past about a good battery and a poor one..The only example i cud give is i have both n80 and n73 and would say n80 battery poor but n73 is good for days use.I have not seen working model as shop is bit fed up with me moaning at s/e p990i but is the screen sharp and colourful or just pretty bog standard cmpared to p990i as p990i it quite plain to me..I have lots more questions but obviously will go to n95 section for that purpose but was just interested in your opinion since you have both products,,,, thanx

To: tejas - it supports up to 8gb (it's also mention in the User's Manual). Since my unit works just perfect since I bought last Oct. 2006, I am not bothered to update the firmware(I'm still using R7) because those who upgraded the firmware to R9, their problems still not resolved with the R9 firmware, so I prefer not to upgrade the firmware. P990i is perfect phone for me (I'm using P990i and Nokia N95 but much proud of P990i).

                              To Archer,

                              I think it doesn't matter.
I always charging my battery till it full and not waiting 'till 4 hours.

And till now, i don't have any problem with my battery

                                To Calvin,

You must have Windows 2000 with SP4 or Windows XP with SP2

Back then, i have the same problem just like you, and i have to format my hard disk n intstall Windows XP with SP2.

                                And no more problem.

                                  Handwriting recognition
I don't really get the question but when f.a. you write SONY you write S than O than N than Y and that is all - it is SONY :-)

I have the same problem when I am surfing rediff.com from the default browser. I have old firmware R9EC001. There is no problem with the site when surfing from Opera Mini.

Thanks doministry, but to be more clear, if i want to write "sony", i will write s then o then n then y and the phone will recognize the whole word at one time or it will recognize it letter by letter
