i'm using it about 2 months now i have a alot of bugs and jams in the begining but after the upgrade to R9 firmware 90% of these problems are gone, the music player and the quality are wonderful and it have a great camera with lots of features the video quality is outstanding but it should have a 3.2 mpix, browsing is very comfortable i use the WLAN, the screen has a great resolution with good space, it accept the 4gigs memory but it lacks some applications like the real player the office is great buisnes card scanner-wonderful radio,java,sis it have evey thing that an advanced user will need

hi everyone... im just wondering if i update my firmware to r9 ... will all my files and everything be gone... i mean the games... pictures, mp3 files, everything will it be lost ... thank you to the one who will answer this.. and thanks to all

When will SE bring out latest firmware upgrade for Vodafone UK users .. It sucks having a firmware R7 which is so slow and unstable..
I ll change my phone if it doesnt come out soon..

Ok no problem. Your CDA is nr 2 which is world/generic. The rest of the number of the CDA (after R) says you have old firmware. You have to upgrade and I think you can. As I know your CDA can have the latest firmware. Just do it from SE site.

i think using a genuine software (not a network operator branded software) is the better way to allow update of the phone.

hi guys..
i am having problems with my bluetooth, maybe you have seen i in my other posts! this is do with my gps
receiver (my connection keeps dropping every minute or so)
somebody on another forum recommended that i update my firmware (as im running R7) to fix my bluetooth issues? as it worked for them! i tried to do this and update to the latest (R9 supposedley) and did this via the update on SE website...it told me i was already running the latest firmware did it anyway and still found i was running R7!?
I later found out that because my phone is branded to Orange i am unable to run an update bacuase my network does not allow me to do so! im now very stuck can anyone help me? Maybe the key to fixing my bluetooth is something else? im sorry if i bein dumb..but maybe someone could fill me in?

it's ow time for SE to make more smartphones based on UIQ (3.0/3.1) cause windows mobile is really winning in the hearts of PDA lovers. SE shouldn't you make a move asap? i really love P-series and the UIQ. and please make it already stable so that people won't have to update the software just to fix the errors.

But it's unable to READ and WRITE Chinese on this high-end model while any other low end SE models are able to.

Hi Guys
I ordered a GPS receiver (Model i-Blue737 32 Channel Bluetooth GPS Receiver) cost me 40quid! and it arrived and I charged it etc...paired up it with my P990 as you do. Then started up TomTom and after a few seconds it connected working lovely...just 20seconds later is lost the gps signal. A few mins later it was back I realised that the bluetooth connection was dropping of as i could see im the bluetooth status screen that the device was connected then disconnected then connecting again! this obviously makes using TomTom impossible as i went for a drive and i lost connection with my GPS every minute or so!!!
I am thinkin of returning the GPS reciever and exchanging it but is the problem with my phone or the reciever..i think its the P990!
So any advice guys? Or has the p990 has failed me for once!

I can not run the SE Update service on my new Windows Vista Basic laptop. It came up with the message that there is no Java Virtual Machine installed, even though I downloaded & installed the latest JVM. I can not install the PC Suite software either.
Hence I can not update my P990 software. I can not load new programs. Previously, the phone worked well when I was using a Windows XP system with Service Pack 2.
I have visited SE site repeatedly. But all request for help were always rebuffed, the feedback forms on the pretty but difficult to navigate site always came up with error messages.
This is my 4th SE phone, but the support I'm getting from is very discouraging indeed. I'm begining to think of Windows phone now.

Your phone is not branded maybe but has a Saudi Arabia CDA, which has a different software available than World Generic CDA 1, 2 or 3. Just check your CDA number from flip closed, go to More and then Status - it's there.

Yes, we need a new P-series. SE should release the next P-series during 2nd quarter this year to replace our P990i. I don't want to shift to Nokia's N-series because I really love SE P-series' touchscreen feature with QWERTY keyboard. SE, please show us immediately your next P-series particularly its full-packed features.
