SE's megbass is the best for bass rendering. it's like an altec lansing bass power. N91's sound quality is really superb but just because of the audio chip installed at that phone. but the bass of the N91 is not really as good as megabass.

After 2 months, and upgraded software, I am still dissapointed with the reliability of this phone. The uptime -even when swiss manager is on- is still low. My best record is 3 days and 10 hours.
It is very annoying when you are waiting for an important call, and your pricy phone just switches off to increase performance.
I will switch back to the reliable Zxxx ones.

i've been using this phone 5 months already! upgrading software is great it kills all the bugz.
to RJ who is asking how to check if your phone is having latest software.

which one's better s.e's mega bass or nokia's bass enhance in the n91 in terms of quality..?. and does p990i support 4gb memorysticks...?

to people who are new to this site:
if you still encounter bugs on P990, the firmware you are using is still unstable and old already. better have your phone software update to the latest version to fully utilize the phone and to prevent bugs.

You should thanked that P990i reached this current price, about around Rp 5 million in indonesia . ( about USD 500 )
I think it's the most affordable price to buy something like a really great phone.
U should buy it and use all the functionality...
I'm so excited with this phone.
if you asked about the weakness , it depends on what kind of phone do you wants and needs.

it's worth the bucks you pay if you will ask me. basically it has everything a user dreams of.
BTW. SE is not behind nokia, they have reasons for not having high res. video for the phone. but it's not for the sake of the company. SE developers are working for the camera capabilities program that runs on any SE J2me phones. meaning we can use applications that can increase video resolution and quality in which nokia can do in their J2ME and Symbian 9.2 phones for sure. SE knows what they are doing.

guys, do you think it will be a good upgrade for my k610i or i'd better wait for k810? (SIGH) pls guys, help me decide....also hoping that SE wolud release K801 w/ a QVGA resolution for shooting and playing videos...seems that SE is way behind complared to nokia when it comes to it...also wishing that they would also introduce a new version of w950i w/ a dual camera. I already saw the w950 and I can say its's really a nice phone... almost complete but doesnt have a camera :( PLs SE hear my plead!!!

i just want to know if the bluetooth connects to other devices, sends and recieves data, images, other files properly because i heard some problem regarding the same. an answer from a user will highly be appreciated

i think it may be a good idea if the next P-Series will be having a design similar to the Clie UX50 PDA. that looks so gorgeous just like the P910. and it'll be following the trend of the P-series looks no more=D

get the p990 but BUT from a original sony dealer there is a vast price difference i live in india the cell from sony costs 31000 rs but in grey market it is 21000 rs one cell which was on diplay had the same software version as the one mentioned in the review on this site so pls beware buy original you wont regret it.

i think the only weakness of the P990 is the awkward design, display and the color(should be painted in black/gray and silver like P910). it shou\ld be similar to the P910 and that can be better. the implementation of the Qwerty keyboard and the reduced capability of the jogdial is noticeable if youre a former P910 user. but all in all it's worth every centavo as SE really cares for it's users by constantly updating the software it utilizes. hope we could get more applications for this phone. but i think SE should produce more UIQ phones so developers may have an oportunity spending money for writing applications for the UIQ 3.=D

I cannot format my 4gig sony card, the sony website and tech support say the 4gig will work, Does anyone use a 4gig and what did u do to get it to work.

get the p990 i have it and i think its the best phone ive ever had its got every single thing u need and much mre its de best the toush screen is mint... if u get this phone believe me u will not regret it not even abit do the right choice and get it:)

The real weakness is the display, which is BRILLIANT but is not the best at the DIRECT sunlight.
Also when the RAM is going down, some applications cannot be running TOGETHER (but it is quite NORMAL, since P990 is the first P-series with the possibility of opening many apps together and simple switching between them).
The rest with the new firmware is superb.

To doug, having problems with settings:
Man, sorry, but maybe the phone is just ot for you?? I get my internet settings instantly from my Mobile Brand and work all the time with internet and email. I work on this phone INSTEAD of the computer. No problem with it. P.S. The phone HAS an installed appicaion which AUTOMAICALLY gets all the settings from your brand to the pone.

Being a Nokia Communicator user (from 9110, 9210, 9300), I was disappointed when I used the SE PSeries for the first time. For me, the phone fares terribly in the useability and stability issue. Now I know why Nokia did not bother put a stylus support in their communicator series - For business use, there is just no way you could beat the ease and functionality provided by a QWERTY-joystick-shift/fcn combination device. And I believe many Communicator users will agree. I have not tried the non stylus Motorola-Q but I believe they utilized the same principle.
Had to buy the phone because there really is no Nokia equivalent at par with the business/power feature set provided by this 3G phone (at least until while the 3G E90 is not available in the market). ...and PLEASE do not bother compare the P990i with the Nseries phones - these are not business phones and cater to different users than what the P990i is intended for.
By the way, for all those people who are crazy about trying to get the Album Art into the P990i music player...
1) Assuming your using Win Media Player and have organized your folders according to album... On the windows file explorer view options, uncheck the (hide protected operating system files) option.
2)You will now see the album art images created by media player with the format (AlbumArt_{uuidofalbum}_small.jpg).
2) Organize the files on you P990i memory card by album too
3) copy the album arts to their corresponding album folders in your P990i memory stick.
