I got my 990i from Vodafone on a monthly contract. The box contains the usual. The main contents apart from the handset are, headset, 64 Mb card charger, desk stand and USB cable.

To the guys in the UK, where did you buy your P990i from? And can you tell me what you get in the box? Is the phone sim-free?

For those are looking for a nice case to protect this expensive phone pls see.

The cases are slight expensive but they are made of finest leather.Hope its helpful for those are eyeing a good leather case.

Yeah! I'm in London UK and I hear what you say regarding the sound quality. The Walkman phones seem to have the edge but the screen sizes are too small for my liking. That's why I find the 990i almost the ideal phone. 2.7" screen is great and the text is very clear and the fact you can alter the font from small to large also helps if you need reading glasses!
Trouble is, buy the time you do find a phone you like there is a new one out and you think why didn't I wait a bit longer! Never ends, does it?

Guys i just got my software updated, its R7A001 now! The task manager is difrent the font is bolder now, and one VERY IMPORTANT function that was improved was the WEB BROWSER! Now it only takes 3 secs to open!!! Wow, before it took like 25 secs, now im amazed. Also, the call log icon on the standby screen is now animated when you tap on it, before it wasnt, only the today icon, menu, and phone icons were animated! I'm so happy with this update, i havnt fully explored the phone now, but i hope there wouldnt be any crashes anymore!

My P990i came with Firmware R4B001.I did a
software update from SE website and it
installed Firmware R7A001.I have had no
problems at all.Blackberry Connect works fine.

I received my P990i this morning.I have just
completed a software update and had no
problems at all.The new software installed
is CXC162037 R7A001.
I have also installed Blackberry connect with
no problems and it is working fine.
The call quality and earpiece volume are
excellent.I have also removed the Flip.
No problems with it freezing or restarting.
There is too much negative attitude towards
this phone.I'm impressed with it.GO AND BUY.

oK, IM IN DAY 6 WITH MY NEW P990, HERE IS THE DEAL. Phone has major software problems, keeps saying not enough memory and I have to restart. Furthermore its much slower then the P910i and next to that batery life is incredible low. For the first time in my life with the P-series i was unreachable due to finished up batery yesterday, was a disaster. Screen resolution is still impressive. I have already ordered another one (second)and am hoping that it has the newest firmware and not r4b001. To be frankly i would wait buying the phone if it has the r4b001 firmware.

I just bought SE P9901, goodness i am so disappointed, everything is configured to SINGAPORE TIME ZONE and i cant get rid of the Zone name to change. The phone is so unstable, an alert with KERN keeps coming up. The contact set ringtone doesnt work, it keeps going to a default ringtone and what is worse it is a different ringtone. IT IS SO UNSTABLE unlike 910. I am an ardent SE user and really hope they upgrade the firmware FAST !!!

alil pissed they shrunk the screen down and put the keyboard on the actual handset. other then that alot of upgrades from the P900/P910

yeah i got that BST-33 here in the US too, and i was mad at first when i got my fone coz i thought the seller had changed the battery, but reading this now i know it was SE that changed it.

SE has changed the battery (in europe at least) P990i is now beeing delivered with the 950mAh BST-33 imstead of the more powerful BST-34.

51459 - thanks for the advice, but my p990i is ok,the main issue im facing is the uploading my p910i files thru the p990i pc suite. i have sooooo much data on my p910i that it will take eons to tranfer bit by bit- i need some software or at least confirmations that the files are incompatible...help somebody!

In my old version of this phone the calender was brill as you cud colour code diff jobs so at a glance you knew what was what. But I dont think the new phone can do this does anyone know an answer .Is that clear a wk to view had colour segs for diff tasks
