hi guys i work at phones4u. been told by the sony rep that the offical release date for p990i in the uk is 14th august with o2 only. then voda etc.. orange will be bout a month later because it takes them time to truley ruin the phone with their own software. the phone has been put back because of problem with the buisness card scanner. a few samples of a prototype have been sold around the world to gauge a public reaction. don't buy any handsets now as they probably are a scam or are not final versions. hope this helps. stav.

oo00oo I did take a look at that fijitsu-siemens LOOX T830. Overall, it looks very similar to the p990i, much much larger and bulkier though :(
tuff call... might have to see the prices on both when released and go from there

Today, I happened to know that what has been released in Tehran (Iran) as SE P990i is in fact a beta version or prototype, but not the final version. But it is for sell in Tehran in very limited shops. I also informed that these prototypes have been imported to Iran from Dubai.

This is SE policy, to evaluate the market by releasing a limited number of beta versions, which I believe should be very similar to the Final version. But I don't know why Tehran has been chosen for this evaluation? Any way, we all should wait for final release. [If you see my code has been changed, it’s because I’m posting form my work pc, not my home laptop.]

hei guys dont look around. Just go www.gadgetspy.co.uk. Then search sony ericsson p990i on its live search. At july 6th news se pencils its p990i launch on aug. Its also confermed that it will available on orange at sep. & other networks has on october. I am very disappointed. To hell with se. To: blank name, code:n$Gv; if you knew about graphic design you will know that Corel Draw is exclusively for vector images, and also there is now Corel X3(13), also the image could be done in Corel Photo Paint, but it is not done in photo paint, this is because the image is pure from a digital camera in this case a Sony Cybershot 4.1 Megapixels with Autofocus with fluorescent in white balance, reduced to VGA or 640x480 pixels!

Seriously, this thing would've been amazing last year, but these days its just not all that impressive. I wish someone would make one ultimate handset for once so the choice would be simple.

The design of this p990 is kind of old fashion and backdated already as it's since. Everyday there's more and more new model and it's highly high fashion coming on, to the market... i scared when it's officially here, it's too old fashion and model.

Yes my friend that photo is real! I investigated by pixels and found out it is not photoshopped, since I know of graphic design I assure that this photo is real, but the specifications of the phota have been removed in order to show no evidence about the camera used, it seems it matches with a Sony Cybershot Camera of 4.1 Megapixels reduced to VGA size with Autofocus and with fluorescent white balance, with this specifications it seems it comes directly from a Sony Ericsson staff guy.

i just cant beleive that 990 is released in IRAN 1st and WHY NOT in singapore,uk,uae,russia,hk or anywhere.that too a month before and the guy cant post a pic eventhough he has got a comp.it dosent make any sense.just dont bluff amir.

OMG yeah its me the same shankie.actually what i wanted to show you guys is -- in that site its written in red russian words "out of stock"(translation) only for p990i.ok here is the thing - the site in IRAN - does it shows that its avialable ???
yeah i guess probably amir's friends will now translate that iranian site.or the ultime answer will be "its not avialable online but u can buy it in reatil"

hei now se official website calls it has 60mb internal memory? Now what that means? Before thay told 64mb shared memory. I think it has 128mb. Because when you reboot the phone it eats around 46mb because of its operating system 9.1 uiq... So it is called 60mb internal memory.. What do think? OR IS IT SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE PHONE AGAIN?

It is ind swedish. It is the largets online forum on mobile phones in the Nordic. They are queting Mattias Holm, PR responsible for SE: "first p990i will be ind the stores at the end of week 2". He also says taht it is a limited amount.
