I am currently still using my P900 and have nothing but love for my phone. I have been due for a phone upgrade since February and couldn't wait to get my hands on the P990. I've been waiting for the P990 to hit the shelves since February and I must say the waiting is unbearable and even the most loyal P9XX fan like myself starts looking at other options. I was told for the fourth time now that we might get them by the end of this month and will have to jump ship if this does not happen.

I have been waiting for 6 months for this phone to hit the streets. Every time they postpone the release. I just recieved my Nokia N80. This is a very good replacement of the P990. It's symbian so all business functions are the same. I was a little bit afraid to switch from P900 to N80 but is as smooth as i could be. The pc suite has improved the last year dramaticly. I have NO software failure noticed wifi works great, battery life is good/very good. Syncronisation SYNC ML perfect.

Guys - I have get my hands on a beta unit for some time and if you liked the P9** series: this is the one. Hopefully SE will get over the issues they have (both HW and SW) soon.

I was looking at p990i earlier. Then came along hp rw6828 and hw6965. Pretty comparable pda phones. hp pda phones will be released in june (in fact rw6828 was already released). I liked the qwerty keyboard that comes with p990i though. But this can also be found in hw6965 too. Windows Mobile 5 as compared to uiq 3 which seemed to have taken quite awhile to 'customise' into p990i.
I guess I may just get the hp hw6965 when it is released. Interesting though, a phone announced in oct 2005 with such long wait; can understand the frustrations that some of us have here. I guess it is fine to get another comparable phone anyway since there will always be a better phone coming... sad...

this phone is tight, the design is awsome it look really nice. i like this phone it too bad that i just got the w900i 2 months ago and i cant afford to buy another phone like this i can sell my phone but it too good to sell. But if i have money i would buy this phone it has everything im looking for so this is very good phone. i love sony ericsson all their new phone amaze me.

Lads before you jump I got a Nokia N80 and it was fine for 2 months now it has many issues, dials numbers on it's own, freez's at times and many more problems. I had the SE P910i and liked it, I think I will look forward to the P990 if it comes out any time soon.

what u say it's right, but think just about one thing: p990 stand-by: 400 h, n80 -192!?!?!?!? it 's that a mobile or fixed one???
still wait for p990 and after-usage opinions ..

Know what you mean guys, was looking at the Nokia N80, but there is a little voice telling me to hold on, because you know what Nokia are like, ill have it 8 months and the thing will go wrong, or re boot when i send text messages, or the bluetooth will be slow, there is something to be said for the build quality of Sony Ericsson. however only 3 weeks to go and it will be available, YAY. (I Hope)

My 910i now on its last legs having even spent a hour in the fishpond and recovered! I love it but patience is fast running out. Can't they post a definite date for the 990 replacement ??

guys, stop waiting for this phone. Your blood pressure will be lower. Gotten N80 and now my spirits are high. After using it, I do not think I will miss P990 that much. 3MP camera is solid. My only REGRET was not making this decision much earlier to dump P990. To hell with SE. Never will trust their words anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aftewaiting for this phone for last 6 months i bought Nokia 6708it has better features than p990 and is a gr8 phoneand half the price

Hi ppl, SE P990i is available in Malaysia at RM 2993.00. I just got it 2 weeks ago. Love the phone after my SE P910i. SE P990i is replication of 910i with just extra function. Feel is the same but at slightly heavier. Reception is good, vibration is felt, so you will never miss a call while phone is in the pocket or noisy places. Use it as modem to acess internet.good and reliable data transfer but use bluetooth is not preferred use cable or other means. Keys tactile and feedback is good. Anyway I will write again after 3 months of usage. thanks

I change from Nokia to Sony Ericsson 2 years ago...(From Nokia 7250i to SE K700i) and I've been loyale to SE (K600i,W800i,W900i,P910) and I'm now waiting for the P990...but The wait is to long...i don't know what's happening to SE lately...all the phones have the same old features...I might go back to Nokia if the P990 doesn't come out soon...afer trying it for 2 weeks the N80 seems to be an excelente phone(although I prefer Sony's menus)...and it has Wi-fi, edge, UMTS, usb 2.0, 3.2 MP camara, 352x416 pixels...SONY WAKE UP!!!!! DON'T LET US DOWN...YOU HAVE TO PUT WI-FI, UMTS AND EDGE TOGETHER ON MORE PHONES...LIKE FOR WHAT I NEED AND WANT YOU CAN ONLY OFFER ME 1 PHONE (P990)...WHILE NOKIA OFFERS MORE N80, N91, N92...ETC...

it's ridiculous the time SE is making people wait for a phone, I think they are going to launch it in the year 3000 or after.
