I think it's best to look at the release date of P990 in perspective of how they will intend to release their other phones. On Sony Ericsson's UK website, http://www.se-store.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.comingSoon , they will be releasing 5 phones in June, including P990. However, it is confirmed that P990 will not be released in June, at least in some parts of Asia. They intend for 4 phones to be released in July, 2 in September and 1 (W950) in October. No phones are intended for August. They have not included W710 in their release dates. I think it can be speculated that P990 should be released between July and September since similar arrangements of phones on most of Sony Ericsson's websites put P990 between K610 and a phone which will be released in September or October. Some forums claim that P990 will be released after the 2nd week of Huly. I doubt Sony Ericsson will want to release P990 too late because it will affect their credibility. Moreover M600 will be out by mid June, which means that the UIQ is ready, unless P990 cannot fix the UIQ in relation with wifi and its camera. The safest bet would be W950 since most forums are claiming too that P990 will be out in mid August. We'll see. It seems Sony Ericsson could be rushing to fix P990's problems since they have not annouced the delayed release date, possibly to try to rush to solve P990's problems. If they succeed, a mid July release would be possible, without an need for an annoucement of a delayed release to 3Q, which will also not result in any significant loss of credibility. However, as Sony Ericsson has confidently pushed W950's release date to October from August even though it is most probably ready since it shares the platform as M600. There is no reason for W950 to be delayed, if not to cater for the delayed release of P990 so as to spread out the release of Sony Ericsson's business phones since they would cater to different a different target segment as compared to their non-business phones. P990 thus has to be seen in comparison to all Sony Ericsson's phones and its business phones, so that it can be seen in a clearer perspective. Thus P990 should be released anytime between July and September but the most probably release date should be August, since September would be too late a release date, for a phone which has been announced in October 2005.

well SE.THIRD JUNE 06. Hmmmm.That was a good joke u pulled on all of us fools waiting for this phone.2 spend a thousand dollars on a phone was crazy in the first place but 2 spend on a phone that obviously has some MAJOR issues coz its takin u guys OVER NINE MONTHS and still NO NEWS.Jesus, u can make a human being in that time, and u guys cannot upgrade the system on a phone. U guys workin on at SE,I wouldn't b xpecting a raise.A pink slip is more than likely your way.Was a NO 1 fan of SE.Loved the p900.Got the 910.Loved 'em all, but man, p990 must have some serious issues so I'm goin out 2 buy something else.Let the other people get fooled and throw there money.I'm gonna wait another 6 months after launch b4 i even think of touching p990.And to all my friends out there waitin and disappointed, LOOK AROUND GUYS.Plenty of good stuff out there I'm sure.

SE rep came to my store, he had M600 on him it looked really good UIQ is impressive. About the p990 i was informed it will be out by 2nd week of July. just over a month left cant wait for it.

JUNE HAS COME NO SIGHT OF 990.Compare it with N80 and all specs are outdated,It would be better for SE to shelf this phone and come out with better product with better specs

SE go to hell to,got my hw 6965,its great and whit much more.its a fact the busnes phones are not important for se only se how many walkman are out,its very unplasure to be waiting for so long to be waiting more

June has finally arrived and no sight of the P990 ! With its outdated specs by now only a fool will by this sh!t. SE must stop concentrating only on the walkman phones and get some work done on this device. They should update the specs (WIFI-g version, better cam resolution 3.5g to name but a few)

Hi All Guys and Galz...
Plz wait, whenever you want good stuff, you should wait .. Nokia, I-mate and other mobiles all I have tried but none of the model is for executive class, only SE P990i... so you should wait for GEMS not taking GERMS.... I advice to everyone, don't buy any other crap expensive mobiles, SE is the good smartphone and if u really wnat good, then wait for good stuff... in fact some Software problem in SE P990i, and i has already launched before but some problem encountered by users and now they are rectifying the problem for ever. Because if you use the things then you will be on safe side.

To hell with SE. Got the IPAQ 6965 from starhub maxonline recontract and paid Sgd199. Goodbye SE P990. Sick of waiting.

Opinion: Hi, I am currently holding on to the Sony Ericsson W800i. I have been looking at P990i since October last year. I am informed that it would be released in June this year, which will be when CommunicaAsia 2006 will be held. I would like to query if it will be avaliable during the exhibition. If it would not be released during the event, will it still be released in June or July at the latest? Thanks for your time and kind help.
I personally believe P990 will be out between July to September, if you look at the arrangment of the phones on Sony Ericsson's website. It is usually placed after K610i, which will be released around July. Moreover, as there are other phones to be release before that, it seems that late mid or late August might be more probable. However, as Sony Ericsson is aiming for W950 in October, it would seem improbable that they will release P990 in September. They might be spacing out the release of their 3 new smartphones, by having M600i in June, P990i in August and W950i in October, so that there is a sufficient one month break in between. P990i should be out approximately 2 months after M600i is out. It could be earlier if Sony Ericsson doesn't want to lose the interest people still has on P990 since HTC Hermes will be released by Dopod, probably around the same time in August or in July, as it is already announced to be released for July in Germany.

Please SonyEricsson add voice recorder in it mean to( voice call when we r making voice call we record it) and we r able to play two voice devices at a time what about this feature? Thats only avail in Nokia

GuysZ loosing patience for this phone relax,
it's worth waiting coz developers have made some new programs included in this phone. hmmm more an more functions/programs while still not released makes it really the best worth for waiting! we can surely assure it's stability due to the improvements. stll the best functional smartphone until now

hello to all SE fans. Yesterday I have called to SE callcenter regarding to the launch of SE p990i in INDIA. Instead of that I gatting more confused about the relese date. because I called SE callcenter twicely in a day, i talked with two different representive of callcenter, believe me their are no resemblance in the answer what the have told me. One said its JUNE. its confirmed. other one said its MID JULY. Whats going on SE. If you dont have a proper information dont play with our heart. please TELL ME THE LAUNCH DATE IN india on my email. hopefully waitng for your reply as well as launch in INDIA. thanks
