This is for real...i've just call SE, they said P990i will be available officially in August/September bcoz they r going to release M600 first! No joke!!! B patience coz its worth waiting, no matter how super-gooddd is Nokia with their latest upcoming models...P990i is still the BEST PHONE IN THE WORLD!

I have just called the Sony Ericsson eshop number (08705 238 238) They said the phone will be released in the last week in June (That's UK Sony Ericsson)

Well, it's still listed as being out by June on Sony Ericsson's UK shop website. Other newly announced phones have been added and they are due for September. Since Sony Ericsson has updated the website and still left P990 at June, I suppose it should come out by June since it would be quite unlikely that they change the release date as it is already June. It would be too late to change their release date unless they have no plans to announce the change even if they wanted to change. If it were to release in June, this month, I suppose it will come out by the end of the month and possibly, we will get to buy it by mid July? M600 is coming out by in mid July for sale. P990 is said to come out a few weeks after that. Would mid July be a safe bet? I was at the PC Show in Singapore today! I played with the Nokia N93! I can't help but think that it looked so sexy! It was so smooth to the touch! I was so intrigued by it that I forgot to take a pic with the 3.2 mp camera. But I did take a pic with the vga camera. Silly, I know. But I couldn't delete the pic from the menu. Weird. And the model lady took it back, saying it's alright. I supposed there are still some bugs. But still it was excellent! Very sexy! Very smooth! Still, I think it's a pity it won't be having touchscreen and office applications like word, excel and powerpoint, which puts it behind P990 for me, no matter how good it's camera is. I would want P990 for its usefulness since they are going be in the same price range I think.

If SE finally decided to launch P990 without any improvement on the screen and camera resolution, it would be a big mistake. SE lovers who have been waiting for this phone will not just throw their money to buy an obsolete phone. This is because Nokia has come up with much improved phone features e.g. N93. As I see it, though P990 design is less innovative, but its design is very much practical than a lot other models, even N93 or N80 or Atom. What do you guys think?

Yes you can remove the flip, & it's only been delayed once (Q1 to Q2).

p990 may be damn good ( specially being a 3G fone) compared to its preceeding models, but aesthetically speaking, this fone sucks. p900's design still makes people turn out their heads at it. plus, being bulky, the ugly color, and having a non-removable flip makes it no different from SE K800. this fone is really a no-no..and also, SE is trying to make people wait when after all this fone is not of its kind, ( the fact that its release date is getting delayed more and more, (currently, nokia's released fones are/will be far more surpassing than the ugly duckling 990) the more it becomes old)

the coming soon has been removed from the Sony Ericsson AUS site, does that mean it will be released Mid-June. Coz that would be freaking awesome, for me its a battle between this and the Nokia N80, which is feature packed but looks crap...

I have got news that sony ericsson will launch its 990 by June 2006, as they are doing testing and upgradation. The phone is getting launched during June only, as I have got this news directly from sony ericsson so this is not a joke or rumors.
Also Sony Ericsson has announced its new symbian uiq phone. SE M600i, Which is having duel keyboard and also dial pad. As this will be launched first and then 990i.

I wonder why Sony Ericsson is so non-commital with their replies to the avaliability of P990. Seriously, if you look at their phones arrangement on their websites, P990 looks set to arrive only after at least a few other phones, which puts it at august if it were to arrive, unless Sony Ericsson is trying to pull a joke on us by arranging P990 otherwise and surprising us with a late June release. We will know by the middle of June, since the "coming soon" tag is always taken off two weeks before the phone is avaliable for sale. So if it's still ain't off by 19th June, I suppose we can safely say that P990 won't be avaliable for June. August seems likely, since the release date for W950 was pushed back from August to October, probably to accomodate for P990's release then? We'll see. Either that or we could buy HTC Hermes, which will be released under O2 Trion in Germany and it will definitely be released by Dopod in Singapore.

Hi,lm the fun both of the marks but when l bought the Pseries,l saw the diffirence thjan the 60Series,or anyother nokia models,the performance is million times better than nokia but some models are really look nice(N93-N73),anyway after waiting 1¸year at the end they made the N91 and started to sell almost 2 months that is their diffirence but SE isnt telling us nothing and like an idiot we are make discussion here without knowing nothing,after waiting all also lm becoming nervous slowly slowly,but there is no better model also in the market to buy because of that going on waiting,if N92 or N93 ll come that week l ll buy any of them without thinking,thanks to all.
