To cplover, yes u can use walkman phone's earphone because i am using earphones if w550i and pno problem the sound is in mega bass as in w550. Just buy it and rock ur phone and ur ears.

hey people, it is really sad, i lost the headphones that came with my p990.. :( anyway, good thing is i can buy a new one! anyone tried hpm 70 on their p990i?
*hpm 70 is the earphones that come with w800i or w810.. its a walkman earphone.. :D
so i was thinkin since p990i has mega bass anyway, if i use walkman earphones then the p990i would sound like a walkman phone.. right??? :D

I need to know one thing from people here.
My handset has high-frequency noise when the flip is open. While opening the flip, the noise disappears when the screen is off mode(saving power).
Do you have the same thing as I have? Thanks in advance.

is there no way to keep the messenges from sent folder to somewhere else? or maybe use certain sms organizer? like the one in WM? btw the messenges is keep in phone memory is it? how many messenges can it store? can i change it to use MSPD memory to keep the messenges?

hi.. i am planning to buy P990 but reading all your comments gave me doubts... is it really not worth it?
i used to have p910i and i was impressed enough with its features..

Ive had all the P-series phones. I refuse to get the P1. I don't think its any better than my p990. My p990 is ready for retirement. I need the new P(insert number >990 here)

I wd like to know 3 things from whoever is using this nice looking device.
1. How's the sound quality from the music player?
2. When editing docs in ms word and excel, are the following functions available like boarders & shading, table drawing for msword and filters, charts and formulas for msexcel.

using a 4GB memory card has not made my phone slower bcos i really do not have much pix i have movies and music those folders occupy about 3.5GB and my phone still performes as with a 64MB card that came with it.
when i tried tranfering sound to my bluetooth headset it did not show me in the transfersound option. so i mail SE and they adviced me to get a stereo bluetooth headset.

bought this phone, upgraded the firmware... and everything works great! video phone, calls, sms, and the browser!!! especially the browser!

@asd - we have the same sentiments. I've been using my P990 for more than a year now and I have not changed it yet as I am waiting for its successor. You are right, P1i is not a perfect alternative to replace our P990 as it seems both are almost the same (except the RAM being upgraded). In fact, I still prefer P990 having a bigger screen size. Well, hopefully it's worth waiting if SE will give us a truly P-series 2x faster than the N95 8gb and perhaps a bigger screen from 2.8" to 3" with 16M colours.

ne news about successor of P series?
My P990 is 13months old now & I want an upgrade. P1 just isn't better than P990:
no VGA screen;
no camera lens cover;
awkward keypad;
same internal hardware ie processor only RAM is upgraded but the phone overall isn't worth for an upgrade since P990 does its job just as good and fast since the last firmware update.
hope GSMArena is amongst the 1st ones to give the good news or else i'm going to switch to i-mate ultimate series(if ever they release it).

Jack ownes several phones but currently he is using p990i hes telling me that p990 is the best of the phones that he used so far.

The most disgusting aspect is the Bricklike 2inch appearence,disowned by SE and having such bad reputation that resale is a headache.Even P1i has same OS even themes r compatabile. Plus the totally chinese plastic body even charging slot has loosened.Pathetic SE have to announce P1001 MUST.

Men this phone is very useless.
It uses me by calling only when it fills like.
It goes off and come back saying it restarted to improve performance.

I have upgraded to the latest formware and my P990i now has the Business Card Scanner function! Just like the P1i... It really rocks!! It works fine and do not have any issues. In fact, it is much better now. The Card Scanner funtion is really really accurate!!!
