ive had this phone for a while now
my first phone ever too lol...
overall a decent phone.. good features for its price, but there were some things which i thought werent that great.. like the media player compared to the w580i..
but yesterday, i flashed it and now have the w580i firmware so yeah.. got the walkman installed :)
now my phone > all the ppl that have the same one

can some one tel me aboout the games that can be downloaded in this phone are they good...and i am plannin to buy this phone and having a bit confusion btw this one and nokia 5310....can someone tell me which one is a better option(music is not my priority)

The battery sucks. First charging for 8 hours with no interruptions. Battery lasts 2 days with normal use. It is pointless to have it unless if you carry the charger together with you.
The whole construction feels cheap, the upper half moves back and forth when it is slided open. This is happening to all S500i not only in mine as i have checked.
I was lucky and until now i do not have the problem with broken keyboard pieces that many other owners of S500i had.
The plastic moves you can feel it when you are using the phone.. Poor sony quality as usual!
Sony sucks i should have bought this piece of crap, i still miss my old Motorola!

I've had this phone for 1 year. My only complaint is the battery but thats probably my fault for only charging it 30min when I first got it(out of excitement of course). But still, the battery can last probably 2 days of extensive use. One more comment, all the other comments made, the complaints, I think thats more to do with individual bad luck otherwise this phone is amazing!

I had this phone but i had lost it. This is a really good phone with all its features and is very user friendly. It is also very easy to text and has many great options.

after 3 months the phone is dead, battery wont charge and turns off randomly.
I've been so careful with this thing too, flimsy piece of junk! avoid

i recieved this phone as a gift last year(oct. i think) and till now I have no complainings. indeed, after having a nokia, i was a little bit dissapointed about the life of the battery, but, in rest, it is ok. i love the shape and the colours. and until this moment - no crash of the keyboard or no fuzz in the microfone. maybe i was lucky. or i don't use it so hard as others(only 3-4 h of talking everyday :D)

i bought the s500i at xmas and have had to go back to the shop quite a few times. the first problem was when i rang someone they couldnt hear me but i could hear them, they repaired it but when i got it back it was a bit fuzzy on the phone. then the phone fell apart and i had to go back again, they issued me with a new phone yesterday but when i got it home it had the same problem as the other where people cannot hear me when i am on a call so i have to go back yet again to get it sorted!! it is acually a good phone if this problem could just get sorted!!!

2tk6 its nothing to do with dropping phone or pressing to hard i havent done either an mine cracked i didnt see mine crack i woke up next day an it had appeared it was simple as that its the phone not the users it should be recalled worst phone ive ever had im trying to get rid of mine nobody wants it!

The point is they do change it an it still breaks even with gentle use or hardly any use an who wants a phone that spends most of its time in service centre i dont its a waste of money

Thanks for some tips or opinion write here cause I plan to buy S500i cause i swap my S500. Well the best thing for those owner of this phone that complaining their ke button broke...... why don't you guys to bring it in Sony Ericsson service center it has a warranty but it depends on how you used it.
I had a Sony Ericsson same model and same case the key was crak or brake so I bring it to the center and they change as new....

I bought this cell phone 2 weeks ago, the design and the lights were very nice.
Until the keypad cracked! right two days ago. I was so... *speechless*
If the officer said, "oh don't worry it won't crack, it depends on how you use it"
THEY LIED!!!!
I rarely use it and I'm not a barbaric in typing text. but still it's crack!
