Miraculously, i had my s500i for 2 months without anything going wrong. But the thing looks so fragile. i can even see the sim card when it's slide open. but other than that, it's flawless. i'm pleased :)

the phone's specifications here in gsmarena say that you can instant message

    but on sonyericsson.com it doesn't?

and by instant messaging, do they mean servers like AIM & MSN?

I have heard that SE is aware of the keypad problem and that phones manufactured as of August will have the new keypads. So, those of you that might have purchased your hpone in August might still be part of the retailers old inventory with the keypad problem.

Come on, the fact that yours happen to be ok and not have (yet) this cracking problem does not make all others that experienced it clumsy and stupid. You can see all this posts, from people from different parts of the world. If it’s a usage problem, how do you explain that it's not to be found, in the same amount, on posts of other phones?

i bought a week 31 model about 3 or 4 weeks ago, i'm txt a good number of times and i have no cracked keys. the people that are still having the cracking problem are taking this phone for granted, some people are use to the razer style keys that aren't even really buttons, so my phones been working like a dream just go easy on the phones.

normal texting led to hundreds of other cracked keys of this phone. stop being so hard on her.

a phone is not a toy, so if it breaks you are using it for other things than it is supposed to be used for. for further instructions read the user manual for proper usage

I am quite disappointed with my new s500 because less than a week the keypad buttons cracked. I am now using it for just about 2 weeks. It really disappoints me actually. However, the rest of the function is good and the sound is good, best is, it is sleek and light. Now, thinking of changing to another new phone.

I bought this phone since early July. I always like Sony Ericsson. For this phone, I like all the look and features. But the sound quality isn't so good, both from phone itself or thru bluetooth. The other thing that's annoying me is that when you slide the phone to use the keypad, the upper part is loosed. I took it for service but they said it couldn't be fixed at it's the sping mechanic inside and that's why the phone is loose and not firm.

I have been using SE S500i, the yellow one. the yellow color is great looking. I'd like Sony Ericsson to make the mame bold and larger while calling out and receiving in.
Also phone book view can set to large and medium.

I would like to say this is a great phone for someone who likes phones that have great features but not too over the top, cost and function-wise. I personally bought this for a friend, and was super thrilled to see him like it so much!

The lights could be alter to any color of the rainbow if you go into the light setting option. really cool and new. the speaker is louder than the w800i.. tho i was hoping for a w-series. I was surprised.. the phone is great. use a w-series headphone for great music. overall.. i was pretty impressed.

                                        @ Boss Lady,

Normal usage as I described it for me would be maybe 3-10 txts a day, and about 10-20 calls with maybe 5 out of the 10 being actually dialed, no web browser usage for me and a few notes/calendar events, about 1 a day.
