Sony and Ericsson ARE THE LEADERS IN SMARTPHONE TECHNOLOGY with the japanese part of them making astonishing phones....
So PLEASE STOP THIS!

mccoy, 11 May 2009and its thesame as well with HD... its just a gimmick to at... moredont reply to him, we know that SE Idou will have the best camera compared to any other phone but we also know that a phone cant be a rival to a digital camera, we just want to have a very good camera in our phone otherwise if that "mstL" man wants to have perfect photos than he can buy a professional DSLR camera. For me Idou is the best phone in the world, way much better than N86, N97, Omnia HD etc and thats the reason why I will buy it
@mstL: why dont you say smth about other brans such are Nokia, Samsung or LG ?? we can see that Nokia or Samsung pays you for this

NO announcement about the 1500mAh battery!
1000mAh still listed and has not been corrected for several weeks - SE really planned to release the phone with this junk battery.

1000mAh battery just demonstrate the incompetence of SE staff / management.
In the last few weeks there are sevewral forums and articles question the rational of 1000mAh battery usage and SE just kept quite - no correction announcement, obviously they really planned to release the phone with a 1000mAh battery.
1500mAh confirmed?????? by who? where?

The sensor size of camera phones are so small that the quality of a digital camera so much better since the sensor size much larger and the electronics much more advanced.
The DLRs are has so much bigger sensors that it is pointless to compare.
The compact digital cameras already have much larges sensors and lenses and that itself enough to outperform the phones. The much more advances electronics just increases the difference.
A relatively good compact camera is about 400-500 USD.
(DSLR 1500 and up)
You pay for performance and quality when you get a digital camera - a phone will not produce similar quality.
That is the reason that today a 12mp phone camera is pointless. Much better to have a 5-8mp phone with great lens and less dense sensor - better quality.
12mp sensor more dense producing more noise and artifact with out the benefit of useful resolution.
For normal size print (8.5x11 or A4 - people rarely print this size or larger) 5-8mp is more than enough resolution.
12mp is just a PR/ / SALES gimmick without merit - actually it has disadvantage since with the same technology an 8mp sensor would produce a much better image!!!!!!!

So if you downscale 720p HD recording and play it on phones, your eyes wont detect any downscaling at all... But samsung should must not tell HD playback because its not the right term...

S.E inside sad Idou will have 1500Mah battery, and is final. 1500Mah, is really good, I hope is true. And he sad the phone will be make by Sony Ericsson Japan(this thing is not new)

they said the recording on HD is crappy/lagging specifically the sound....

might not be funny to everyone, but I am actually following this thread and typing on my Idou. There are no black stripes when viewing video if you wonder. If you like s60 and SE this is your phone. Cheers

This section will b... moreiam sorry Kal, i have diff opinion with you about Video resolution..my opinion, size is related with video resolution...resolution is about pixel and size so if idou screen is 360 x 640 resolution and the screen size is 3.5" you will have :
65829pxls / 1" of screen.
more pixel is better...smaller screen size is better
then if idou uses VGA video resolution (480 x 640) so for video, you will get :
87771 pxls / 1" of screen
87771 pxls is too big for 65829 pxls so there will be useless 21942 pxls...
there will be no black bar when you play video.
how about with omnia HD..
for screen, 360 x 640 with 3.7 " you will get :
62270 pxls / 1" of screen so idou screen has more pixel than omnia HD screen...but Omnia HD video resolution is much bigger than idou VGA video resolution but it is useless if you watch HD video on 360 x 640 screen, HD video resolution is too big for omnia HD screen resolution...
do you know if you zoom qvga(320 x 240) video resolution to 14" screen so the video will be streched, there will be bad pixeled screen and blur.it means,the size does matter..

I have many mobiles. because I am working in All types of mobile Company.Like Nokia Sony Ericssion Samsung & L.G. But my work experince tell me sony ericssion is the best in mobiles. it has a fast speed. Nobody can beat it. I always use a Sony Ericssion phone.
