twas a very practical phone, i have to buy a phone only for texting bec. i had no budget this x-mas, but bec. music makes my life colorful, i want to buy mp3 alone (makes it cheaper with a phone featured mp3) but surprisingly, mp3s became uneconomical this christmas!, along with my gf, she introduces the w200i sony ericson, a phone and mp3, well i am happy with that surprisingly to a price of Php5500!!!another surprises me is that it has a camera at least even low quality. thanks to w200i, i'm contented, thanks, i hope it will last...

nice phone.. a perfect match to accompany it's big brother w810i.. i have these 2 brothers and loing it.. w200i have 1000 CONTACTS which is the main important to me..however the screen doesn't look good, but of course with the price comes along with it..
overall.. a cute phone!!

Hmm... I can't see a previous question...
Anyway, the W200 can play any movie file in full screen mode. Access the file in File Manager. And click on it until you see a MORE button. Then select HORIZONTAL for full screen. As for the headphones, there could be possible damage to the latch on the adapter or on the latch holder on the phone - this could happen when the phone is, for example, rolling excessively around your pocket etc... If the headphone was bought seperately (eg HPM-70), then make sure that it is not a fake. Also, try clean the metal contacts of the adapter with a clean, dry cloth...

It is theoretically possible to upgrade the UBC screen on the W200 to a 256K TFT LCD screen from a K510 - these phones are built on the same chassis, but as said previously, this is theoretical due to some other hardware differences. Here in New Zealand, I need about $80 US to order a screen, which I can't afford at the moment T_T*
As for bluetooth, if someone is seriously smart enough to alter the W200 firmware (adding bluetooth feature) and then add a bluetooth module onto the phone, then adding bluetooth is theoretically possible too (but not very likely to happen)...

no bluetooth on this phone? ridiculious... this phone would be a perfect budget phone if only it had a better screen and bluetooth

Just bought this fone, n I like it. It is not as flash as a Nokia E65 or something like that, but it got really powerful music.

Can you explain to me the line that has appeared? Also, can you tell me what you did with the phone just before you saw this line? When you say a line, is it just a line and the rest of the screen is fine or a line and parts of the screen are blank?
It sounds like the phone has been near a magnetic source, like stereo speakers or a television set, which may have disturbed the LCD pixels which are present in the screen. In that case, there is usually only one resolution, which is to change the LCD screen, or just buy a new phone altogether... Just reply to the questions above, and I maybe able to help further...

For Dani,
the songs you have may be the problem - they may a high default volume, making them sound distorted on the W200. Try the music files in question with other music players, and try readjusting the volume of the music files.
For Judy,
You have to fully use the battery up and this process must be done about 3-6 times to take effect. You will notice a significant increase in battery life in two to three weeks.
For Russel (or Grame - both coming from same computer),
Mate, it seems that you have a Chinese fake, or similar. You should sue the company the sold you the phone, not SE... First, the W200 has expandable M2 memory slot, on the side. Second, you can turn the phone's infrared on by going to MENU, SETTINGS, CONNECTIVITY, INFRARED PORT. To use internet, go to www.sonyericsson.com and click on your country. After that, go to support and there will be an option for internet settings. Follow the instructions from there...

Its a great phone with cheap price. Its speciality is in sound quality. But it has very low quality camera and screen resulation is low as well. But except those this is very good phone.

All of these complaints are confusing my head.Does the phone have infared.This phone seems like a good phone and it is cheap. But i am really confused now.And the people who tell u the reasons are they really qualified people.Because they ate saying one thing and other people are saying differnt stuff.And sometimes they say some silly things anyway i just want the question answered with the truth.Dont try to tell lies so u can get the phone cell.Plese if not for me for yourself.

In the booklet for the W200 is says it have infared.Well it doesnt have infared,it doesnt have expandable memory and u cant go on the internet.Is this phone fake.Can i sue the company if so.Can u look in this matter and see if it is really hapening.

I charged my W200i for about 12 hours as you said.But the battery is only lasting for 2 hours without using any applications.how can i get the problem fix.I hope that i dont have to buy a new phone and its able to repair.Thanks in advanced.

well frndz! i hv ths set from last three months n in ma opinion its awsome set in low price....its sound quality iz gud...its GPRS speed iz better.... bt its headphone'z bass explodes when listening to high bass songs.this prb waz nt when i bought that set bt it happenings from last 1 month... n it makes me very SAD!!!

For Jared...
You MUST charge your new battery up for about 12 hours if you want a long working life from it in the future. The 12 hours is what is called the activation time - the battery, new, must be activated since it has never been charged before. If this process is not taken, you will notice a significantly shorter battery life... Note that is it always recommended that you fully use up the battery before charging it again - product does produce memory effect, which is when the battery capacity decreases because you charge it prematurely (even if the battery is designed not to produce memory effect)
This may be the problem with Jimmy...
