Can somebody please explaine me how to change the menu version (new icons). it seems i have the old version and i am trying to get the new one but without luck. i downloaded the upgrade service but it says no update availble... how do i mange it?? please give me details.

It seems that the WALKMAN bug has NOT been fixed... I was listening to some Mozart while reading a book... Then, lo and behold, the high-pitched sound suddenly comes out while I was adjusting the equaliser... This sound is stopped by either changing tracks or fast-fowarding the music...
Therefore, I can only conclude that SE has simply fixed the camera driver only (from VER2.6 to VER4) with the latest update...
Anyone else have a bug with this phone (with the latest firmware)? Please, post your feedback, so SE can view them and fix them for future updates~!

its good...i like the phone...but the thing is i need the bluetooth to transfer some important files to my computer..is there anything i can do ,,to enhance or for short to install bluetooth in this phone?????

i bought this phone for almost a week now, great sound, great bass, great look, i love this phone, but i have 1 issue that i don't like, the display is very pour in colors, this UBC technique is not very good, probably very cheep :)
question: how can i make may display more fine?

Ok, for DX
You can update in 2 ways - computer (via USB) or in the phone (Update Service). I recommend using the computer (cheaper). Go to google.com and search and download Sony Ericsson Update Service. Install it, and follow the instructions from there...

Yes, looking at that the phone is locked to the Orange network... It is possible to unlock, but you are looking at paying (US$15) to do so... Plus, your firmware is the old version... I recommend that you get it unlocked, and install the generic W200 firmware (for the country you live in), and update from there...

I personally use a silicon (synthetic) cover, but it doesn't really matter to the safety of the phone... Silicon, I bought for US$3
Also, you should update your phone (or at least try) using the computer based update service... There, it will say whether you need a update or not. If you do, update it. If you don't, don't. The latest firmware should allow 2GB M2. The older firmware supposedly allows 1GB M2. This depends on the country you are in. Check your country's SE site for more details...

Dear 5ushi - i have a 2nd question - for safety of the phone, which is a better cover of this phone some various covers available here some crystal cover or synthetic they say - which will be a better one and the approx cost - crystal cover they said @ 20k. pls. let me know which is the best cover.

Dear 5ushi - please tell me which firmware did not have that version for 1gb in w200i (___________________) and which new version has 2gb version (__________________) so that i can have it from www.sonyericsson.com/support - i got this baby on 14th nov (packaged on sep 2007) and still confused which card to buy whether 1gb or 2gb cos i have a 2gb music stuff to store........pls advise thanks -

The problem is due to the fact that the phone has the file open and ready to play... This is what causes the phone to consume more than average battery charge... Just found this out....

Hi,
It is THEORETICALLY possible to change the current 65K UBC screen (on W200) to a 256K TFT LCD screen (this LCD must be from SE K510). These 2 phones are based on the same chassis body structure and can THEORETICALLY support each others parts. Note that if you want to chnage the screen, go ask a phone shop (like a importer). SE will probably say that this process will not be possible, but due to the striking similarities, I say otherwise...
Also, please note that with the new firmware update, the W200 is able to support a 2GB M2 card... I thought it would just support 1GB and bought 1GB... T_T
Future updates may make the max capacity go even higher (you can get 4GB cards these days for K850)...

That is very strange... Maybe it is because the non generic firmware... If your phone is riddled with non SE stuff (eg Vodafone or Orange logo), then I suppose that that might be a firmware bug... I never experienced that problem so not sure what to say about that... I will give it a go and see what happens...

Hi, I learned that while charging the phone, you can't hear FM as the charging & earphone jacket is the same. I have one question, can i hear the mp3 songs (with M2 cards) without any attachments of charger or earphones by the phone inbuil speakers near the backside cam lens? and how is the sound quality......thanks

Hi all, i really like this so called low budget set but don't have enough money to buy it now (lol). I have nokia 1600, 6600, n72; siemens c75; samsung c130. But still i want this set. After using several nokia phones i realize nokia is a crap. N72 sucks, it's headphone is so big that it may fit my a** hole not my ear. Samsung is great but it cost more to have less features. I haven't use any SE phone yet. I am planning to buy this w200i after reading all your comments. I don't need a bluetooth, i hate bluetooth. I'm glad it don't have bluetooth. I just care about music and internet. So please guys (specially 5ushi) tell me ASAP, can i install and use opera mini4, mig33 on this w200i? Do w200i have flash themes? Is the headphone comfortable in yous ear (not big/hard)? Do rss work? Bye & Thanks anyway :)

I am gonna get w200i within 7 days.Can somebody tell me how is the sound of its loudspeaker??And what is firmware update??? What the benefit I can get from it????/
