Sorry abt my previuos post may be u got me wrong. Thanks. Now u got it, 5ushi. So, it was the "camera" and not the "screen." So i thought it was some miracle was taking a picture of the newborn in manger at church on 25th and He put me in tention till yesterday 27th, when I finally made it to `normal,' but after your pressing joystick left and right to right to left, I could solve it from the SE "EFFECT" mode, which turned my camera to colors from b&w. I have not really explored the settings. Thanks 5ushi

Observe the battery - under the SONY ERICSSON words, under STANDARD BETTERY BST-36, it says Li-Polymer 3.6V...

For Robin,
I couldn't understand your previous post... You were talking about the camera and why it was producing black and white images... I thought you were talking about why the screen was always producing black and white images...

hi 5ushi,
may be u gave me some funny answer but i did it myself. While pressing joystick to the right it was saying "create short cut". Then I went to EFFECT, there some settings are there, like "black and white", "negative", etc. i pressed on "black and white off" and then my w200i became normal. thanks i dont hv to go for repair. But i dont know how it happened. whilte taking some picture, it automatically changed the effect anyways, thanks.

The W200 does use a Li-Polymer battery, which can be prone to gaining the 'memory-effect' if used incorrectly in various environments (especially cold areas).
For Jayson...
The screen size is not the same (bigger on W200), but the quality (I would say) is around about the same - but the W200 will produce a brighter image than the T230 (STN on the T230 compared to UBC on W200)
For Robin,
I am not sure what is happening with your W200... So the images just become black and white on your phone?? Here is a method to test your display system... Go into standby (idle mode). There, point the joystick to the right once. Then, press * once. Then move the joystick to the left 2 times. Then press the * once. Then press the joystick towards the left once. You will come into the Service menu - DON'T PLAY AROUND WITH ANY OF THE SETTINGS; DOING SO MAY DAMAGE YOUR PHONE PERMANENTLY~
Go to Service tests. Can select MAIN DISPLAY. You should be able to see red, green and blue here. If you can't, I suggest taking your phone to the place where you bought it for repair... To exit the test, press back.

Thanks for your answer in advance. I can't light, no more of your (w200i) darkness, all my pictures, seem to fade to black and white (my fav george michael sings - dont let the son go down on me) - so pls. help my w200i started changing to black and white when i go for clicking pictures / videos. i am sure you dont let the son go down on my w200i - GeorgeMichaelly, robin

For Steven,
The fact that this phone is a budget phone results in the W200 to have a low quliaty screen and lacking some features... May I recommend you the SE K510 (but no memory stick slot)?
For Bee,
Band selection is hardware dependant. As a result, it is not possible to get your W200 to become a quad-band phone. Unless, if you have over $700, maybe you could take it into a SE store and they may be able to reconvert the insides of the phone (though not very likey - I think this maybe possible because some people have paid alot of money to convert CDMA 1X phones to GSM). Tell me what band your area uses, and what services you lack...

No bluetooth??!!
I feel that this is a necessity for ALL new phones and that this inadequacy will be a downfall for this phone.
I bought this phone for my sister for Christmas but she's very unhappy. To be frank I too am very dissapointed!

it's so great the design and the features it's so interesting and the bad thing is that it has no bluetooth... huhuhu...
and those who are voting for nokia 3110c don't place it here place it in the page of nokia 3110c .... and it's pangit th 3110c it looks like a old model fone....

The W200 supports 1GB M2 cards, and with the new firmware, supports 2GB M2 Cards... I have recently contacted SE, and they say that they may increase this capacity in the future to 4GB or higher...
