I sent my w550 to service center since it had "white screen" problem. Before it happened, the phone often got hang up and nothing I could do to turn it off other than removing the battery and restarting it. The last time I did it, the phone got white screen and a click sound when I restarted it. The "hang up" problem happened early after a few weeks I bought the phone and got oftenly occured after my husband transfered a video file from his pc via bluetooth, and the file failed to be opened in the fone. I also downloaded Opera mini ver.2 to my w550. I wonder if those actions caused my phone cracked?

I had the d600 b4 this it was a great phone but there were dissapointing things about it like the menues were to compliacted and the camera positioning was stupid and i got bored of it straight away. I upgraded to the n70 and thought hmm the features on this dont look bad and now iv send it back twice in one month due to faults . Next i tried the w550i and its great i luv it it does not decide to break on you and its so loud it amazes all my mates and most of all it owns all phones. i give thumbs up for this phone so dont think just buy

Hi I am Nirav from Bombay, India. My hot chase for the perfect mobile finally came to and end when I bought this model. I like this model a lot and have been using it since Junes 11th 2006. It has FM, In call timer, Loudspeaker (though not very loud which I needed), silencer voice recorder cum sender, MP3, etc. I found the keys to be comfortable with me. However, what kept me down was that it has heavy weight and no provision for card slot. You cannot uprage it to a higher memory card. Also, while typing SMS u dont get to know how many charcters you typed. Anyways, Sony Erricson folks need to improve upon this feature. I bought this for around USD. 234 which I found it a bit expensive but surely its worth. I appeal to the company to lower down the rates so that more people can afford it in my country and thus there will be brand popularity. In this way, market penetration can be done. India has over 100 million mobile users - many times more than population of any average country.

this phone has 256mb of memory space. but some files are pre-installed that's why there is only 232mb left when you have it on your first use. you can erase some of them, and others cannot be erased because they are protected by sony ericsson.

it supports 3gp and mp4 videos...mp3, m4a (mp4 audio), wav, mid audio formats.

dont use that software to transfer any file. just connect your phone, then let ur com ditect it, then transfer it straight to ur phone. just copy and paste, so simple.
plz, read past opinions for great view of this phone. dont be lazy dude!

one tip...be sure to off ur phone befor connecting it to the pc...this is safer than connecting it 2 pc and later on auto restarting it...

this phone is great!
it's technology is enormous for a mid-range phone, all are beautiful and no regrets of buying it, abt the white screen problem, it's not that dangerous, it's like a computer restarts to protect it from major damage.
it's my first time to hold this phone in my hands and it is more beautiful when looking and holding at personal than looking only in pictures,

hi,
i bought this phone in the usa.
in a local cingular store for 300$.
its fantastic!
only prob if it falls to much the turn on the phone gets stuck or wobboly.
other than that..no problems.
