k , i'm going 2 buy a phone & i just wanted 2 know , which is the best one samsung d600 or SE w550 and wut exactly comes with the w550 original box and wut is the best face of the phone. thnx

This phone rules and has everything you need. Many people complain about the software problems and white screen probs. I dont have that problem but if you would like to prevent it just upgrade your firmware for the disc2phone program. Somtimes i have mysterious things happening like it will freeze in a weird way but for only 2 secs and its very rare. Overall it all adds up to how much care you put in your phone. You dont act like crap to it, it wont act like crap to you. Simple as that

software versions other than R4AB048 are stable.
some tips to avoid the white screen:
-CHECK for updates monthly.
-do NOT use the disc2phone pc software.
-do NOT install java apps from unknown/unpopular developers.
-if your phone hangs up and then restarts to standby automatically, you MUST restart it again. turn it off and let it REST for a while.
-let the phone to have AT LEAST 30MB memory space. do not wait for it to ask you to delete some files, if the memory is already full.
-if your phone has the white screen, please bring your phone to an AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER. some unauthorized service centers install a firmware which is not developed by sony ericsson (a firmware which is from other developers; it might damage your phone).

yes, w550 supports web content. its browser (access webfront) fully supports html pages. but if you want faster browser, download Opera 2.0 (www.opera.com). it is a safe java app. opera is well known for its fast pc and mobile phone browsers.

of coz have sound :) but the video quality is not so good. but still ok. if u like to shoot vedeo go for video cam right? i feel satisfied with this phone. compare to that w810i, i think the difference only it have memory card's slot and internal only 20mb, and also have EDGE thing. others, almost the same!

what i did just connect your phone to pc, copy the jar file that you download from any webs, put into any folders in your phone(for me i put it into 'other' folder, restart ur phone and open that file in your folder. it will installing automatically.

thanks bee for asking. what i mean in my msg b4,i bought this phone b4 i read everything you guys wrote in here. just shocked. didnt relized this phone have some probs like white screen thing. but so far this phone is so cool, and i think is better than nokia 7610 i used before. starting to change my mind to SE after this!

For COnverting the files from any possible format into 3GP/mp4 format u can use "Super videos" named software(its totally free to download with full funtionality and no limits)

I have had the w550 for around 4 monthes, and I can recommed it to everyone. But there are some minor things which annoy me a lot. For example I can't put more than [a number] of people into each group in the phonebook. Also I think that it is quite stupid to have a limit on the amouth of sms you can have on the phone, my question is why have a limit afterall?
Apart from these things plus one or two more, the phone is brilliant! It was very fast to learn how to use it, almost too fast. The design is very smooth (except that HUGE thing at the top of the phone, I surely hope that it is for some use, like an antenna or something). Well, I have heard about some software problems, I can say that I have never experienced them yet, so all in all, a nice phone, which everyone should have in their mind when they are considering to buy a new one.

I have gotten this phone back in December 2005 but where is it now? It's at home. The bluetooth of this W550 is very sensitive that sometimes it tends to hang. 2nd, the phone automatically reboots itself every now and then. 3rd, sometimes there is no screen or monitor that shows up but a white blur meaning, it needs to be repaired again. So, I truly regret having this phone.
