Jamzuri , have u used the disk2phone software at all ? please tell us pricislely what problems u hav on ur phone and tell us if u hav downloaded any java or themes over the internet on the phone?

Hey all , jus found out 2day dat u guys really shouldnt use the disk2phone software as it holds a virus or bug which transfers to the phone. Apperently microsoft is in war or sumthing with sony so they included a bug in the software !! DO NOT USE THIS DISK !! transfer ur files via drag n drop method or bluetooth ! Personally i dont have the w550i yet but might be getting it soon ! wee bit scared though :( n e way hope this info helped u all !

i love my W550i and wouldnt change it for another handset...currently it is pink as i found some cool new covers off the market....i was fed up of seeing evry1 with the same phone so i changed my cover and its now unique to me...lol

Hi guys,
i am having this phone since 4 mnths,
and its just rocks, sound is just mind blowing; i dont seem to have any problm of "white screen" i suppose
and 2 days back i downloaded the Software version via GPRS its version is CXC1250031 R4CB020000000
also i want to share 2 thing if u havent tried Opera Mini 2.0 on ur phone try it

this is a browser with its full capabilities (forget abt our SE web browser) this brower is just amazing

just bought my w550i yesterday n aafter that only relized have a lot of thing going on here. but is ok, i like my phone very much. my software version is CXC1250031 R4CB02000000 i guess this is the latest version right?

to transfer files between the phone and pc, i use the USB cord supplied in the phone package.
turn off the phone. then connect it to the pc (turned on; windows xp loaded). the pc detects the phone and then searches for driver installer (which is the pc suite). you must install the drivers (windows will automatically search for the driver w/in the pc suite cd, then click the drivers to be installed). and after you have installed it, please turn off the pc and then disconnect the cord from the phone. turn on the pc again. after windows have loaded, connect the cord to the phone again. it will appear as a flash disk (usually appears as drive E on most pc's). and lastly, the most important, after transferring, right-click safely remove hardware located in the taskbar system tray.
please read the manual (page 61-62, English version). please follow the instructions CAREFULLY. not doing so might damage your phone.

yes, the phone's front and back covers are replaceable. the covers are termed "style-up" covers. a new w550 comes with two covers: one white and one orange/dark blue.

Wondering how good is this phone..
It is definitely a SUPERB phone..
**Good side
-With adequate memory of 256MB, Superb and Brilliant sound quality, all included-in-a-box (USB cable, audio-jack) surely makes this phone wonderful.
- Bluetooth, infrared, usb.. A wonderful combination for transfering..
- Flash Diode, it is bright to illuminate your room. (EVEN HAS SOS MODE)
- Sound quality above average, BASS is superb, you would melt..
- Playing MP3 using audio jack saves a lot of batteries.. :)
**Bad Side
- Camera quality is very average, has a lot of noise under low light condition..
- Swivel phone, nice for youngsters but not for elderly or business type of people.
For those youngsters who would want to buy a camera, mp3 phone.. This is one of the best choice. But i do not recommend this phone for business or elder people. :)

the white screen issue is still happening on some phones.
the w550 camera is poor on dark conditions. bright dots appear in dark shots. but it is excellent on daylight conditions.
this phone has SMS counter.
please read the user manual before transferring files between the phone and the pc. it is said in the manual that your phone appears to be a flash drive. just turn it off before you connect it to the PC. and safely eject (right-click Safely Remove Hardware in the system tray) before you disconnect the phone from the PC. DO NOT USE ANY MEDIA PLAYER to transfer files.

Could somebody tell me whats wrong with the W550's camera. I might be getting this phone soonand I just wanna know why everyone is complaining about the quality of the camera. My friend has the W550 and he has never complained about it once. So if anyone wants to prove me wrong Just say it out (over here). Thanks!!!!!!

i have ordered this fone as my motorola E1 ROKR somehow got water in it i was just wunderin to get songs on to the fone can you use windows media player to put the tracks on or do you have to download something on to your computer please can someone tell me!!!!! i just got a commy and i dont wont to ruin it by putin songs on it and making it slow :)
