Just bot the 550 for my wife as a Valentine's gift.
So far, I'm more than pleased with the audio quality.
The MegaBass churns out really good sound that will really give the iPod a run for its money. Anyway, I heard the same MP3 song from the iPod Nano and 550 and I would say the 550 sounds better than the Nano.
The only gripe I have with this phone is the audio jack.....why on earth can't SE use a standard 3.5mm audio jack direcctly on the phone, but had to use a connector?

I bought this masterpiece 3days ago. I dunno how to view videos in full screen using this phone. I have tranferred videos from pc using bluetooth to this phone but when i view it, its not on full screen. This rili dissappoints me. PLZ teach me how to do it. THX alot!!

i always used to have a bit of a problem with the se joysticks. they wear out fast . . even in K750i and w800i. but this W550i navigation system is too awesome. it has a circular 8 way button and a center button. i have never misfired any key til now:) and this one will last very very long i think. k ppl thats enough of readin reviews here. just get the phone and you'll know what am talkin bout:)

after readin some of these reviews i have finally bought this phone. man. . what an amazing piece of technology. the display and the sound is mind blowing. sony means pure quality. nokia cant even come any closer to this quality even in their top notch models. the one i bought came with d latest firmware and i have no probs. besides this phone has more features than k750i and w800i .

This phone has a better sound (both headset and the speaker phone) compared to Nok** N70. I proved it myself.
A friend of mine also said that the mp3 sound (through the HPM-70 headset) is comparable with iPod's.

Kenji...just coz u dont like this phone or you're not a SE supporter...plz don't give those type of comments T.T...this place is where we discuss pros and cons of a fon...so plz don't make those type of comments newhere k? ;)...
pros :
1) BEST sound quality wif stereo and equalizers
2) easy to use
3) nice games and java
4) LONG lasting batteries
5) its nice to swivel it once in a while XD
6) high quality display
Cons:
1) lack of memory T.T
2) some ppl say tat the keypad sux but i dunno...works fine 4 me ;)

This phone is great! i've just bought it for a month. The only thing lack here is the expandable of memory inside. the rest it's awesome..the sound is the best among all the SE model coz this is the only phone that has stereo speaker. This phone can be loaded with 55 full mp3 songs with average song between 4 to 5mb. This swivel phone is very stylish. One other thing that i think it is poor in design is the key pad. The phone inside keypad is flush with the phone housing and some time it can be troublesome when you have a big thumb. It doesn't feel like other phone keypad which i think nokia is better.

w550 is better over w800 in a sense that it offers more features compare to w800 like enhancement of sound quality, double sound speakers, new web browser(net front), and dont forget that it offers java embedded games wich can be compared over nokia's n-gage furthermore w800 lacks these functions besides its camera

yes i admit SE W550 has not great video image but do one practicle, transfer your video on pc then see what magic it does
