Had this phone for about a month now, unlocked to any network. VERY pleased with it...much better than i thought it would be. The amount of features and quality of software is outstanding. SO glad I sold my featureless RAZR to get this.
The camera gives good results too, but bright conditions are preferred. The panoramic mode works superbly, and the video playback is pretty good too.
Everything feels solid and well made, and the menu's are well layed out and easy to navigate. The sound quality is outstanding, and very loud too. Pc software has so far worked well, but wont allow me to convert files stored on the pc's hard drive into mp3, instead i have to copy them from disc to phone. This is by far the best phone I've ever had, and hats off to sony ericsson.

Hi all..........i've bought this phone last December in KL...At Bukit Bintang....i had the white screen problem.... can it be repaid..someone said yes...but some said no...

Hoaaaa... I've bought this phone.. n I'm very2 dissapointed.. hixxx3...
The bluetooth doesn't work good..
I have to restart the phone to make this phone able to conected with other device.. I've repaired it in SE services center .. but still doesn't work. :(

>Ei Newton! Check the video settings.. It may have been set "for picture msg", it will only record 10secs video.. Select the other option so you can record up to longer times.. Otherwise, check your free memory..

>yo - when you create a new folder using your PC during xfer there is a very big possibility you'll damage some files.. create the folders instead using your phone..

at last!
now my battery can last to 1 and half day before i recharge it!
before this,i need to recharge it everyday!
i hope i can reach more than 2 days for standby time like steven's phone!

Sony Ericsson W550 is delivered with a great amount of accessories. One of them is the CD-ROM containing applications to help you manage the phone and transfer files. Once you install the PC Suite on your computer and you connect your phone to the PC through an USB port, W550 will appear as an extra drive under the My computer folder. From this moment on you can work with the phone in just the same way as you would do with any another device that supports USB Mass Storage. The phone is able to charge its battery through USB too.

Newton, when in the video mode in the camera, press the centre button of the stylus to bring up the settings menu. Click on 'Shoot mode' and then select 'High quality video'. I am sure it is set to 'For picture message' on your phone.
Once you do this, you will not only be able to record videos sans any restrictions, the quality (along with the file size) will also increase significantly.

That 25mb is not gone.. It is used for the operating systems, factory-pre-installed games, themes, sounds, and pictures.

This happens with the older versions of w550i. Some of my friends also had the same problem. Try to bring it to SE centre n upgrade your firmware. Usually this will solve the problem. But if not, ask the shop/dealer to have the phone replaced..

i have bought this fone brand new and been using this fone for only two weeks as of this date. Im really feeling depressed right now because my fone collapsed for unknown reason. I wont reboot even if im pressing the power swith longer than usual. can somebody please help me. Ireally dont know what happemed to my fone. Im really feeling depressed and im really starting to have bad impression with this fone. 2 weeks of normal usage, my memory usage have not even reached 200MB use... have used only 120 MB of my fone memory. Please please please help me...

hey NEWTON, u have to free ur memory for recording more,it does not record for sec it can record for many mins(eg 20 30)...all u need to do is very ur memory while makin a video then transfr the video on ur pc and put sum stuff bak which u deleted,HTE MORE MEMORY U HAVE THE MORE VIDEOS U CAN MAKE AND 4 MORE TIME!

how do you know what version of firm ware do you have? what do you key in? i knew that before, i just forgot.
