I faced myself with the issue of that small strap beneath the slide getting loose. Is it possible to fall?

Hi All,
I bought this phone abt 2 months back, after ignoring the keypad issue raised by other guys at the forum. Unfortunately even I faced the same problem with keys cracking up right thru the middle. The keypad quality is very cheap for a high end phone. Also, the small strip beneath the sliding section seems to have got loose. The remaining features of the phone are excellent though.
I'm considering of switching ovr to Nokia 5610. Nokia is simply rocks with its built quality.

Ok, W580i. My friend own this, and after a month, 3 button cracked. 2, 5 and 8. I saw it. She's replaced with a new keypad. Other than keypad, it keep on restarting itself and camera doesn't save photo you took. So she's replaced with another same phone but the keypad still cracks! Again, keypad replace but it's replaced with a different color keypad. Now it doesn't crack anymore. So sad, it's not that nice anymore but at least no problem occurred anymore. =)

Guys Im going to purchase a new phone soon. Cant decide between w610i and w580i.I need some opinions from the users... help pls..

Bought a grey / blue one about 4 months ago. Keys cracked within first month, side lights dont work right (example: you click purple they end up green, etc). Camera stopped working (you take picture then it all just closes and doesnt save). Sent it in for repair they sent me a new one back with same keypad, same light problem, and a grey / blue version with an orange backing (yes they screwed it up). Terrible phone DO NOT waste your money

i've had this phone for 2 months now and i have to tell you that KEYS DO CRACK! No it is not an issue of a faulty lot, they just crack for every particular Sony Ericsson W580. Otherwise, i basically got everything that I gave my money for: very good sound quality, good battery life (it lasts 3-4 days, with me listening to music about 2-3h or so daily, plus speaking etc), very nice display and a phone that is very solid (dropped it 3-4 times already and hasn't even got a scratch!). So the point is that if you're willing to accept the cracking keys issue (some of my friends thought they were designed like that, with a crack in the middle - and found it cool!), I really recommend this phone.

Just got it over two weeks ago. Men the phone rocks. Anybody that wants a phone can get what you need on it. And lest i forget the track changer is magnificent.

I have a W810 and want to upgrade to the W580 for the bluetooth stereo. Anyone else? How is the sound quality with the bluetooth headpohones? Will the FM work without the cords?

Gosh i had my mind set on this but after hearing the key pad cracking i changed my mind coz if majority of the people are saying that it'll crack then eventually it will crack just like w710i rubber peels off it eventually does damnnnnnnnn :( i hope they make another fixed version of this

people who's had problems with the phones turning off automatically or something, do you guys have a phone holder/case/holster that has a magnetic flap or some magnet on it? if so, don't use it to hold your w580...
and for those looking to buy a holder/holster/case/etc. for this phone, do not buy anything with magnets... some units are fine but other units might be affected like having the turn off problems...
