ooh, i just played with the phone for the first time.
...it's hard to find in the US, but sonystyle stores have it for US 300 unlocked/unbranded. i think it looks great in person, better than in pictures, and i was happy with the slider.
i wish there was a flash and autofocus. 3g would be nice. and i'll be very upset if the keys break. but i'm very pleased about good music software with a2dp and i believe the 4gb cards will work. i'm trying to decide between this and an iphone... full internet is very tempting

how many frames per second does the video play?? i mean for example i put a movie in the phone to watch...

Hey arraizen,
Why do you say that there is an issue with 2GB cards in the w580i? I've been using a 2GB card since the weekend and there have been no issues (fyi its a sandisk card). Rogers (=mobile provider in Canada) is giving away a free 2GB card with the phone.
......the real question is, does this work with 4GB cards?

I recently got this phone, and it had no flash.. camera has no focus.
Also is a bit delayish (when i press a button it doesnt come out of standby mode instantly, takes about 2 seconds.. whereas my previous W810i was instant.

I had uploaded songs and taken pictures on the phone today, and then all of a sudden, all of it was gone! Everything I had in there prior to today is still in.
Does this happen to you??? Is there any way of getting that stuff back? Maybe through the service provider?
I've had the phone three weeks and find it not user-friendly. The battery life is 2days tops.

Overall rating I give for my phone which is W580,IS 7/10
Let's talks about the cons,
the camera,i will say it is below average then the normal phone.
I'll say that the camera is not good.
the videos also quite sucky.
pros,
music playing is good,very loud.
if you like to run or sports that consisit of jogging or running,this will be a good choice.
They wil calculate how far you walk and run.
And for me,i will challenge for higher records,as it give medals,which is most couraging.
Other function will not be bad,just like others phone.
I heard that this phone can shake?The music will change too.
I cant find the features,which i think is quite crappy.
well,Thats my opinion about this phone, i give a thumb ups!
the battery is also user friendly,can blast music for2days,w.o charging.
and even the battery 0% it can hold for 2hrs!

it costs a little bit less in Portugal, I've seen it there at €289 unlocked (even so, it's expensive for such a cell). Hey, you've got to pay for the design... right?
It is fragile, but not as much as Samsung's D900, which lasted 2 days in my pocket. lol

Well,
I changed my w580 and they had 3 "faylty" units in the ships and no more. I got one in grey, the last one, but the unit hasw a mini gap in the battery cover. If it works fine, I will keep it, but I am afraid the screen is moving now. They had problems with all the units sold, and probably will not bring anymore.How can I know when it was built?
Sound is great, battery is weak, looks are fantastic,but I find it fragile.
Far too expensive for what it is--310 euros-,but the upcoming w910 has videocall that I don't need and will be far more expensive.In Spain is about 550 euros!

I never had any problems with key cracking and I text A LOT. Maybe they fixed it in later versions of the phone?

This is a great phone! The sound quality is excellent, ive had this phone for about 3 weeks or so, no cracking on the keys wat soever. I txt quite alot at times too so i dno how ppl end up cracking their keys.

this phone is sheer brilliance, i meen the camera qaulity is perfect i have owned this phone since 3rd august and has doen me well so far, as for the buttons breaking i have to agree it depends on the user.i espeshialy like the blue walkman emblem as it is not everyday it is blue now is it? one of the best phones i have ever owned adn i will continue to enjoy its plesuresome company

Great phone. Awesome slim design. Great features. The dark color is perfect. Have had several Sony phones and this is the best one yet by far. Very happy with my purchase
