I really dont think we talking about the same phone here coz the long story that you wrote there doesnt in anyway relate to the phone that I am using which is the W800i or maybe you using the fake one( just checka nd make sure its the right phone bro)

I have this phone but i face a problem. Every time i put it in my pocket, the lens cover move and the camera turns on. Is there any way of deactivating the lens cover when the phone is on a locked mode?

just warning you guys...
i used it for 13 days and it burned the memory stick... and sony ericsson didnt give me a new cellphone so i had to sue sony ericsson to get my money back... now im with a new phone and no more headaches

Hell i agreed with Haley. Bouh, i think ur the one who has problem with yourself, not the phone. If you dont like it, why you still keep it? Well, its not 1997 anymore, you should be able to face new 2005 technologies. Fix urself, not the phone.

This the best phone !!! This is all u need. You never have a problem with memory... plenty of it. Just need 2 exercise with the file transferring from and to PC. So many gadgets, and yet so small and light ! Try it

This is the worst and most expensive phone I've ever owned. I bought mine 4 months ago and I still curse at it daily. That's how bad it is.
So many bad stuff I don't know where to start...
1) Some basic phone 101 functions are not included. For example, if a friend sends you a text message to ask you the number of your friend John, on most phones you can access your "contacts" while writing the message, and get John's number automatically. I could already do that on my first phone back in 1997; but no such thing on this 400 $, 2005 phone. You have to remember the phone number or write it on a piece of paper and then type it yourself.
2) When someone who is not yet in your contact list sends you a text message, you should be able to use that message to save their phone number, right ? Wrong. On this state-of-the-art phone, you need to pretend to call then, then quickly cancel the call, then scroll through to your "called numbers" list, and from there you can save the new phone number.
Just these 2 things give you an idea of how well-designed this phone is.
More bad stuff:
3. The PC software is horrible and counter-intuitive. It will take hours for you to understand how it works and start transfering music to the phone.
4.The mp3 player software is awful to navigate in. Plus external buttons are badly designed and you sometimes jump to another song without wanting it, or start playing songs by accident while using the phone.
5. Random exasperating fact : I have a one Giga memory card and there is about 200 megas of free space on it. Yet every two days I have to spend time deleting text messages because the phone cannot save those on the memory card. And you can't receive new messages when the allocated "text message memory" is full. I can tell you, it's a great feeling to have to drop everything and chose some msgs to delete, in order to receive your new messages, all the while knowing you have enough space to store about 4 full CDs on your card.
There is more but I guess you got the message. Just don't buy this overpriced, underdesigned exasperating piece of...phone. I am going to post this review on a few sites, I've never done that before but I guess getting pissed off every day for 4-months deserves some retaliation.

I got sony ericsson w800 five days ago, I found it is fantastic in every specification, sound, shapde, responses, and a lot of things. Its memory is very wide to include all what I need. Just one things I hope to be added to this valuable mobile, it needs to add waves acception and to add more colors for the cover. best wishes Shahzad Jehangir, Kabul, Afghanistan

it's a great phone ever, with wonderful music superb clear sound n powerful bass, camera with auto focus night mode allows great shot in dim area....with it's 512mb memory lets u store plenty of music...

its really a great phone, ALL IN ONE, handphone, MP3 player, Camera ,in One. Great Handphone.
few months ago, when i bought a handphone, i just choose NOKIA ONLY. After I knew These Model, I try it, its really good. No COmmand GOOD JOB SONY ERICSSON.

To Kyexy and to fix Jonath
You have Problem with transfering file is because that your phone's firmware has bugs. I had that before and what i do is buy a card reader, all problems solved. Its not only because of te disc2phone software, drag n drop features might not going solve problem. Most users experiencing the same problem as you and what they do is buy a card reader or upgrade their firmware and its all good. Hope that helps..

there is a special path on memory card. for audio: MSSEMC\media files\audio or \mp3
and pictures: MSSEMC\media files\image\

can just anyone tell me why that after i rip my mp3 inside and when i try to listen.. the file is lost... and also my picture... the disc2phone software is totally annoying..zz
