hey,i am using the phone for half a year now,its working fine,NO PHONE IS PERFECT! yet, this is best among all.for all high-end phones, there is going to be some problem, which no brand phones can escape.
The one who is bashing this phone might be experiencing non-original se phones, or might be selling the s.phones. BUY ONLY THE ORIGINAL SONY ERICSSON PHONE.

Soooo many probs with this phone with bug ridden software, poor support off orange and SE.
If you inted to link it to a pc AVOID like the plague you will be dissapointed, this is my 4th phone and still getting problems with the software this is getting beyond a joke.
Oranges stance is that it makies calls and thats what a mobile is for, my stance is it is a walkman phone and you should be able to use it for music.
WARNING: BEFORE YOU BUY CHECK OUT ALL THE FORUMS AND JUST SEE HOW MANY PROBLEMS THIS PHONE HAS!!
I work in mobiles and with this phone we have 75% returned to us with problems, we still try to hold in contract (Which in my opinion is awful) dont be a victim steer clear!!

How long will the battery last if spends hours on MP3? The specification says it can last 30 hrs if the phone was shut off, is it true???? Thanx.

Well I have had my fair share of phones and this one is close to the top. The only problem is lack of extra software to put on it to make more "exciting".
The camera, I feel, is slightly overrated but the music player is great. I did have the same problem using Disc2Phone like many others. But all I did is upgrade the firmware. Now I when transfer the music I have to turn the phone off and then back on, but at least this way, all the tracks appear.

hi pple.its me again.my w800 really rocks.i love it.it has everything i ever need in a fone.and the price has come down a little bit.i think if se had put something like edge in this fone,it will really kill the sales of other models,so its a good market strategy.it i were se,i would do thesame,i wont just put all the functions in a fone just bcos i want to please everybody, while i make a good fone,i wuold want other models too to prosper.
at first,i had problems of tranfering audio files from fone to pc and versa, until i upgrade the software and that did it.it works like magic.and the steps are easy too but u gotta be brave.(laughs).if u have questions on the upgrade,u can contact me on opsy4real@yahoo.com and ill see wat i can do to help u.this fone is really nice.even in my opinion, its better than w900 cos w900 is bulkier and besides, they are of thesame functions,no difference.beauty is in the eye of the beholder though.so if u are young, hip and loves good music, buy this fone if u can,u'll enjoy it.thanks.

I was too getting the problem in transfering the songs via its Disc 2 phone software(sometimes phone doesn't shows the transfered songs) so I'd purchased bluetooth dongle, now my problem is solved.

i have k750i and i am fed up with the music problem with both w800i and k750i...

i would convert cd to mp3 put it on my phone and when i took it out only like 7 tracks on.....

so this is advice to every1 buy a bluetooth dongle/adapter and it is fast and no problems...

u can also transfer between infrared which is good but a bit slower.

If u have a problem with the software when transfering music files to the phone, can u buy a memory card reader and transfer the music directly onto the memory stick without using the software? Will there be problems when trying to listen to the music u transfered when u have that card in the phone??

                                      to jack:

quite frankly i agree to u that the w900 is better than this one. which i will get next week. but about w810 and w800? i think it's just the same. the only difference that i see this far is that w810 has an edge but reduced the phone memory to just 20mb which is injustice. btw design is a plus but "if" they released an alternate color for w800 which is black, im afraid to admit that w800 will soar higher than the w810.
