Hi pals, I just bought this phone 1 week ago. Quite satisfy with the overall feature. However, wondering why everytime i connect it to computer, it will auto re-charged. Is there any way to stop it from auto re-charged? I think it will damage the batterei if continue like this. Thx

Just switched from a W900 to a W800 which I think is much better. problem is I can't connect to the laptop. i've downloaded both from the disk and the SE site to no avail. The USB drivers say they've installed correctly but when I look at the disc to phone program it doesn't see the phone.
Anyone offer any help please?
Thanks
Dave

I got this phone quite a long time back and I must admit that this piece is beauty. How ever it lacks few things... First of all, the maximum sound is not so loud what I heard from the dealer, and it does not play avi files, which left me highly disappointed. Does any one know any software to play avi files on this phone, then please help me...

To DAN
Cheers for the firmware info but i think ive found my problem. The phone switches itself off so i did a bit of experimenting and it appears the slightest bang on the phone causes it, i thought at first a loose connection but i've since found the battery is to blame and was moving slightly and disconnecting itself.
So what ive done is put a small folded up bit of paper between the battery cover and the battery giving it a tighter fit. Since i've done that no more switch offs (yet) but heres hoping.

Hi, just bought W800i and its an awesome phone. But maximum volume is not that loud as expected. I read in the reviews about Goldwave or MP3 Power Editor s/w. Can you please help me out, how to install this application in the phone in detail.
Thanks in advance. And this phone Rocks!!!

I got this phone last week & its sound quality through earphones is not that good as i heard.I sold my N-gage classic for this one.And guys,to be frank, the sound quality of N-gage is very good than w800.No doubt, the camera of w800 is mind-blowing.But its mp3 player dissapointed me.Anyways, the plus point is that its design is convinient and good.

The other guy said yes it can read MPEG4 but you have to have the right converter like xilisoft. I use 3GP converter and it works much the same as MPEG4. I see no difference at all.

well as u guys know s.e has recently announced some great phone and i have aimed for k790 since i dont reli need a 3g phone~ am i worth to wait for k790 instead of buying w800 first? as i see, the difference are the camera, and the screen only~ in fact, w800 seems has bigger memory, lighter and smaller size~~ just the orange color... ergh~~~~~

After reading the two specifications of the Sony Ericsson W800i and the W810i, is it worth paying extra for the W810i?

to bazza, to get the latest firmware, go to the SE website, select your mobile model, go to support>update service and download the file. You need to upload the firmware to your phone via your pc. Instructions are provided and its easy. Or you can visit any SE service centres. The latest firmware version should be R1BC002 but i'm not sure how good is it but it claims to be bug free. Enjoy...
