yes, I can use mp3 files as ringtones but what I really don't understand is why would SE state in the user manual that the phone supports aac files..while in reality it doesn't?! How could they provide wrong info?! Don't they know the actual specifications of their own phones??! It's really driving me mad!

@abel.... see let me make it clear,As zenyt said a phone's OS is where the viruses attack. now for your information w810i has javascript and no symbian or windows OS as in most nokia and other phones like O2. so since there is no OS there is no chance of getting viruses.
@zedrick... well just use your brains once and think of the fact that since so many people are praising this phone there must be something in it.... isn't it? well as zenyt said if you really wanna see what actual problems are then go get a N series... you'll get a clear idea. well if you want i can send you pics taken by w810 and N80(3 MP camera). you'll be surprised to see the difference.

By the way, Zedrick I never experienced any problems with my Sony Ericsson W810i. Maybe you got a messed up version. Or you might be just saying that because you want some people to move to NOKIA. Or just to annoy people.

I still can't play the video on the phone. I made it into a 3GP File but i can't see anything. I can only hear the song but cant see the video. The program i used converts AVI to 3GPP + ACC. Everytime i put the file into the video folder. It doesn't come up into the phone. So i have to put it into music. Do i have to put it in Video folder? If so, I did do that, but still it dosn't work . Please tell me how to put the video into this phone. I can only hear the video clip but i can't see anything. Do i have to use another program?..
Please Help Me out....

Zedrick, maybe you just bought a fake one. We're gonna have this phone this week so don't disappoint us. Besides, the review on this phone by my friends are great. They did not experience what you did. You shouldn't be spreading news that you hate this phone because some people look forward to getting this but their hopes die because of your opinion. Shame on you.

@sew810i ..the video format that ur phone can render is called 3gp ..this format works for sure..

@murage -- for great speacker output (minidisco :D ) i can reccomend u ; nokia 3250 -really loud speackers..it looks like a brick ..n 6233 ..loud spck. ..n95(isn't cheap)..or u can get the w810i and for maximum output u can buy the mini speackers that SE provides for this phone(not sure the price ..30-40 euros/40-60 usd)..and than u can have a party :D ..n'joy

@zedrick...have u considered the fact that ur handset can be just deffective?!and maybe isn't such a common problem with SE ?...if u really wan't some comparation terms..i recommend u use some n series (n 73, n70 ..etc) u will see what real problems mean.. :D enjoy

dear marius ..the "timeout" period in orange network isn't set by your phone software ..is set by the network-the period is 59'59"..it's a measure taken to protect the users..for more info call orange center(411/444).
@sarlette ..the e65 camera is rubbish compared with the w810i..and yes there are some phones better than w810i..but not on his price range...(u can't compare for example an N95 ...or next to come k850i with w810i)
@darin--contact your gsm provider--u have to set up the phone to connect trough the network u use (set up gprs apn, wap apn , etc..)
@abel ..w810i doesn't use a symbian or windows mobile OS so..no worries about viruses!

For all of you who do not own this phone yet, please do yourselves a big favor by not purchasing it, or for that matter, any phone made by Sony Ericsson.
The problems with this phone are endless, and I haven't been ever so dissapointed with how it functions in comparison to other brands like Nokia.
It always automatically shuts-off, problems with text messaging, alarm malfunctioning, and so on...
In fact, I have missed a big business opportunity because I was late for a scheduled meeting and relied on this rubbish phone's alarm tone which failed to function the morning of my appointment.
So please, by all means, do not patronize such low-quality, cheap products. I have recently sent mine in for repair, and it's been over a week and Sony hasn't contacted me...
So much for "Customer Service"....

when your on the phone, try to find the button at the sideways, justt click up and make the volume higher. =]

This phone isnt very good,compaired to all of the other phone now out on the market...and a comment to the one guy,an E65 has a much better camera than this phone!!!

Size and looks... verygood. But almost have No differences with the K750i features. I replaced my N6280 with this one. :)

If you live in Romania, don't buy it from Orange. They put in it a software that really makes it work much worse. For example, a lot of phones (mine too) has a very annoying problem: when you talk to the phone, the conversation has periods of timeout, because of the software. I HATE THIS !!!
The mp3 player is AWESOME and the camera is beautiful. But as a phone it has a lot of bad points from me
