@mj you are upgrading from what phone?? IMO it was a pretty good upgrade from my k750 as the k750 didnt work on cingular to well where cingular concentrated mainly on 850mhz rather then the other bands. Aside from that this also has Edge technology which is much better then GPRS and the closest ill get to UMTS till they decide to implement it here at my current location. Other then that kinda just depends from what phone you are upgrading from and what your service provider has to offer.

Need help,please.I cant open my w810 to put SIM card.I opened once when i bought it, and i closed properly back.Second time I try to open,it wont.Seems like is glued.Doesnt even move for a bit.I dont now what to do,and how to open it,Does anybody has any idea?Please help,i wanna use it.

can this phone use MSN MESSENGER...i really want to know?? plz tell me...and if so can it be installed using the software that came with the phone or do you have to download it and WHERE???

@wizard i had a k750i and upgraded to a w810i why? 2 simple reasons 850MHZ and EDGE to some its not a big point, but to me in the US and with cingular service it makes a WORLD of a difference.

@frank - Menu then press 9 for settings. You will find the software version in the first menu
@Acid - Thats funny. A company I do IT work for recently updated all the companies phones to the N70 then returned them all in a week as they were confusing to use and not intuitive in anyway. Also they didn't always ring when a call was incoming.

how do i find out what firmware version i have? whats the code and then how do i get the newest one?
the loudspeaker is very crackly when i put calls through loudspeaker but perfect for normal mp3s, hows this!?

now ive got the K750i and im still waiting for a new SE to topple that. so far there aint. W810 has all the features K750 has and the only difference is the design. so whats the F point! u mean after a whole year and nothing has changed.

Aside from outlook what other programs can the pc suite w810i software sync calenders with? I'm desperately looking for a calendar program so I can edit appintments on my pc and transfer it onto my phone...

I'm having a lot of dropped calls, and I dunno why, any help?? My software is the cxc1250316 r4ck003, my cda is cda 102555/107 r2a.

Sorry I forgot to add on my last comment that my W810i does not have the crackley speaker problem...im impressed very impressed and it takes a lot to impress me!!!

Fantastic phone!!!! Walkman function is excellent and the camera is brilliant... the latest software version for any one who is intersted is cxc 1250320 R4CE012

I got this phone about 2 weeks ago and I can say that this is by far he best phone I have seen. Cant find any problems or negatives with the phone.

@Carbonize - I had just read something about the W800 in their part of the comments that there was a problem with SMS support with software or something so I just wanted to make sure it was OK with this one.
How would you compare the W810 vs. the W800?

@Stas. - errr are there any phones that don't support SMS? Normal SMS on the W810i are stored in the phone and ones you choose to save are stored on SMS.

which software you used for conversion?
for better audio, high sampling
rates are needed. ie generally the mp3 files
are sampled at 44100 Hz and data @ 128 kbps.
( i think most of your mp3 files hav this rates)
If we sample a audio file at lower frequencies,
the sound loses its clarity.
Here i use 'xilisoft 3gp video converter 3.1.5' for
converting video songs to 3gp. and properties of
my converted 3gp file are,(using xilisoft)
video => 176x144 @ 15 frames per second (mpeg4 codec)
data bit rate 100
audio => 32 kbits/sec @ 32000 Hz - stereo (mpeg4_aac codec)
and the output file size is around 1.25 mb per minute
this way i converted many video songs and each file sized
btw 4 to 6 mb :)
reduce the sampling frequency, then you can see that audio
loosing clarity.
i don't own w810i, but these files are working well in SE k700,
my friend's phone. i own an N-Gage and it don't support
mpeg4_aac codec....=> no stereo sound :(
.mp4 files are much more better than 3gp files.. but the file
size is big.
