I was trying for three weeks to get this phone. Every shop from essex to Lancashire had sold out. while passing through London today i spotted a shop by the escalators in Euston station, ran over and asked.. They had one left!.. within 30mins i was the proud owner of a shiny w810i and easter gift bt headset. BOTH FREE OF CHARGE!! Not sure if i was supposed to get the handset free, but weyhay. On O2 Leisure Time ALL. Im band C as my bill is usually around £20-£30. so far, very very plased with it. HIghly recommended phone but so hard to get hold of its untrue!

I've had this phone for about a week now and have to say that I'm very impressed. Good menu system, great camera and MP3 quality etc.

The only issue I have had with it so far is that when I installed the Sony software onto my PC (Windows XP SP2) it refused to detect the phone was there. However, Windows Explorer was more than happy to see the two additional drive letters (one for the phone memory and one for the memory stick) and to allow drag and drop of pictures and MP3's etc, but the Sony software refused to see that the phone was connected. Not a biggy.

I've just got the W810 and initial opinion is its fantastic.

Only thing is I have a little red character at the top of my screen and i dont know what it is. Its like a downwards facing phone with a v shaped arrow on top of it.

                    Anyone know what it is?

From my openion guyz 3250 has a lot of problems as it is equipped with symbian 9.1. Thats the reason it is not back compatible to load the outside applications. these s/w need to be modified to make compatible with this phone and will take time to do all this. Sound can not be compared with SE walkman phones and nokia can't beat SE for still images. yes i can say nokia takes videos better than SE. But still SE W810 beats Nokia 3250 :)

                        Drew,

I've been on contract since end of dec 2004 and haven't upgraded since then, as there's been no phones that take my fancy.

I'm not sure how the upgrade pricing system works but everytime I've phoned and spoken to an agent they've all said that it'll be a free upgrade for me (I'm on online off peak 300 which I know is the lowest tariff), they get my details up on screen and thats what it says. One time I called and the guy told me they did have it in stock, put it all through the system, told me it was free and it'd be with me in 3-5 days...we hung up, then I get called back about 10mins later saying they didn't have the stock. Think a couple of people have put it in my call record that it'll be free. I don't mind waiting a few more weeks for it when stock comes in rather than get it now when stock is low but prices high. I took the phone back to the store and they have cancelled my upgrade renewal (I hope!).

                          Hi

I noticed that my phone only recalls the last 5 recieved and missed calls, although it is supposed to remember 30 for each. Does anyone else have this problem?

                            "Who Me"

The price you have been quoted for the upg does not make any sense at all looking at the upg matrix we have it doesn't tally with the normal upg price....

When was the last time you offical upg/took the contract out ?

What tariff you on, O2 online (which one) or the normal high street tariffs ?

all in all seems rather strange....

and fyi, if any one calls up for a upg to this now it is now on managers allocation, you must be spending at least £100 pm to be even consided for the upg to this phone we simply don't have enuff stock.

O2 stores on the other hand might have stock so it might be worth while calling your local store.

                              hey,
ive had my W810i for a couple of days now. great phone! was bit annoyed with o2 though rang up near enough everyday for 2 weeks to the stores and customer services. I lost it when they told me to call back on the 10th and guess what? none in. So i spoke to the manager the truth was that they were getting a batch in at 2pm and they wernt telling customers. So after speaking to the manager he saved one for me sent me a E-Mail saying they had the batch in and to ring up to confirm the order. also on top of this i got a month free line rental. So my advice is keep trying and if the say a certain date do ring back on that date and if they say they have none just ask if there is a delivery the same day or do what i did and ask to speak to the manager. Other than this i think o2 is by far the best UK provider and i suppose at the end of the day its not their fault im sure they would rather be sending the phones out than having to deal with complaint after complaint.

Yes i also just orderd the phone from oranage today, they seem alot more professional, 02 might have the deals but orange are reliable as i understand, atleast on the orange website they tell you if a phone is in stock or not, i orderd the phone from 02 twice and both times when i waited for the phone, it didnt come, when i rang the custermer service line they said they had no record of me ordering it, what is the deal with that? I rang custermer service lastnight they told me to go to an 02 store and tell them what happend, so they would give me the 02 online tarrif inside the shop, alls i got when i arrived at the shop this morning was bitching about the custermer service line, and alls they said was that this cannot happend and to ring the custermer service line again! HAHAHAHAHA biggest joke ive ever heard!

The Mickey Dee - but then it doesn't count. It's possible that you installed the drivers to windows the first time u installed the program.

But noone can confirm that this phone is compatible with all kinds of computers? Plug-and play. No driver installations etc.
